Currently -1.2c under clear skies. Some decent showers on the radar but will be a long shot to get and as far as my location.

Temps up to 3c now so probably not cold enough for snow today.

No snow here but a nice frost. Was -1.6c earlier. I'm going to take a more laid back approach to chasing snow from now on. If it comes it's comes. No point getting hopes up then being left disappointed again.

Temps fell slightly below zero earlier then had a slight shower of rain that has froze solid on the car. Roads could be very dangerous tonight.

Max today of just 1.6c and currently 0.3c.

A dull, murky morning. Dry at least. Temps actually still falling, now down to 0.8c.

Rain eased now, temp down to 3.8c. BBC forecast showing very little snow for us. Frosty and dry will do me. Vids from Scotland will be interesting tomorrow night!

Would the recent 2 week cold spell have lowered the sst's? Make things less marginal from the north?

I take my feeders in monthly and give them a good clean. Also move my feeders monthly to fresh ground to stop disease build up. Great to feed the birds but if you are giving them disease it defeats the purpose.

Word has got out in the bird community, I now have lesser redpolls, chaffinches, blackbirds and tree sparrows joining the linnets, goldfinches and tits at the feeders, notable that there are no greenfinch, is their population in decline ☹
I've never seen a greenfinch in my garden. Would love to see one. Loads of chaffinches, a couple of goldfinch. I see a dunnock and a wren regular but they won't come to the feeders.

Nice drop in temperature from the mild yesterday of 9.1c to 0.4c this morning after the front cleared south. Model thread has been electric this last while and will be serious squeaky bum time next few days I feel.
