3.6c here this morning. Big difference in 24 hours! Snow almost all gone now so it's back to model watching.

Skies cleared a bit earlier and temp fell to 1.3c but cloudier now and up to 2.2c.
-
Very encouraging forecast on rte now. Not looking particularly mild now with temps of only 3c tomorrow and 6 or 7c Monday.

Temps up to 1.1c so nice ice day unfortunately. Still a fantastic winter's day out.

Coldest night since I moved to this house 5 years ago. We expecting rain later or could there be snow? Freezing rain maybe?

NRA station on N2 Monaghan is -8.7c. kells -9c.

Temp has stalled here at -1.4c this last few hours. Breeze just stopping it going lower. Few spots further south were at -5c a few hours ago. Could be a minus 10c somewhere.
-
I certainly think there should be more official weather stations. The NRA has a great network of roadside stations in the Republic. I'm pretty sure a weather station somewhere along the clogher valley could record some very low temperatures on frosty nights with an inland location and decent sized hills on either side.
-
Are the Mournes near katesbridge? Surely there are places more inland that record those kind of temperatures but they just aren't recorded?
-
Anyone ever been in katesbridge? What's the topography like? Why is it so frosty?

I do big lad, while amount of Gold finches, Tits and Linnets, can't keep up with them
Most I've seen is 2 goldfinch on mine. Serious amount of tits, robins, chaffinches. Bring great colour and noise to the garden this time of year. Could watch them for hours. They badly need the peanuts and sunflower hearts in this weather.

Nearly noon and the temp is only 0.4c, could be the coldest day yet. Total feeding frenzy on my bird feeders. Do many on here put out food for the birds?

Another slight dusting here too. Temp is -1.3c. you seem to have done ok mountain shadow.

A few showers showing up on the radar moving down from the north. Anyone getting anything?

Top temp today of 3.6c and currently -0.1c. serious amount of snow has survived in shaded areas, roads are lethal. Some lovely winter walks this last week and really don't want it to end!

Good covering this morning but only about 1cm. Sun is out now and temps up to 1.9c and a slow thaw is on.

Hey BIG LAD. I'm now at 450ft / 137 mtr. Up only 22 meters.
Every metre counts in marginal Ireland! Temps down to -1.3c now.

Welcome back Baltic! What's your altitude now?

-0.5c here after briefly hitting -0.7c. cloud had definitely increased. Ground is dry and frozen solid so if I don't get laying snow from this I'm moving.
-
Incredible day out. Cold crisp and clear. Temp up to 2.1c. hopefully be sub zero before the front arrives tonight so will be a major bust if we don't see laying snow, however little.

Signs looking good guys so fingers crossed. Nearly 9c atm so wouldn't want too many more days like this.
