Very strong winds up to gale force at times overnight and into this morning. Should start to ease from mid-day. Cold weather will start to set in, high wind chill values in the mountains.

3rd day in a row of double figures rainfall. Windy and heavy rain at the moment. All fells have disappeared into the gloom

Heavy rain overnight and continuing into daylight hours. Some squally gusts with some of the heavier rain. Blencathra and Sharp Edge just appeared out of the murk. All snow has gone. Blue sky just appeared in a hole in the clouds. It's going to being a wild day.

Day of two halves.. dawned cold, widespread air frost. Travelling through central lakes was great, frost glistening on the fields and the trees by Naddle Valley, suspect it went down to -3 degrees in prone spots.
Alas the cloud invaded, rain set by noon, making for a cold drab wet afternoon.
I had a low of -3.6c

A cold rather wet November day so far, cloud shrouding the fell tops. Current temp a chilly 7.6 degrees.
Suspect the very high tops will have a white mantle.
We are entering a coldish spell for early November, frost and 3 cold days beckon.
Yes both Great Dodd and Blencathra have coverings

Yes Cumbria has racked up a run of low minima, colder than forecast. Awoke to another air frost. A bright cool day.
Tomorrow should see the rain hold off until the dark hours.
Compare and contrast. Last night minimum was up at 9.5c here

Overnight frost. All surfaces white. Low of minus 1.1c. Looking forward to long periods of unbroken sunshine today, the lake district will be at its best.

Last of the late season warmth today? We shall see, but we are now into mid October, the sun has same strength as late February.
A rather dull damp day at times.
Looking forward to crisper sunny days by the end of week, and probably that first feel of proper Autumn.
Snow being forecast over Blencathra at times for the weekend

The climate has always been in constant state of change, without that, life on earth would have been been impossible. These changes, some good some bad, will continue whatever man may think he can do about them. These facts should also be referred to, rather than the narrative continually being one of fear.

Hit bang on here, big thundery lightening downpour. Lots of people out and about shorts and t- shirts. caught out...
Just checked on all my local summits and can see many of walkers on the high points. Presumably not many appreciate the danger of lightning and a mountain environment.

A good day here, easily will rank as the best this week.
Dry bright, temps nothing special but probably best day of July so far.
Oh dear tomorrow and weekend set very poor for mid July.

Lovely in the wild north of the lake district. A lot of cloud but tops are clear. Sun punching through the clouds frequently giving superb sunscapes on the fells. Dry and windy. A wonderful day in the lake district.

Oh dear its drab out there, rain against the window and a dull grey sky. Need a summery injection.
I'm enjoying it, plenty of parking spaces

Well that was a write off day, incessant gloom to valley level all day, persistant fine drizzle after moderate rain earlier on.
A little brighter up here in the northern lakes this morning although very low cloud has most of the tops covered. I can however, see that High Rigg and Catbells are clear. Overnight dry, 0.5mm of drizzle has fallen since 0600. Overnight low temp, a muggy 15.8c and now 17.0c. My weather station is forecasting the strongest winds over the next 7 days since 9 April and rain falling on every day accept tomorrow. Temperatures below 20c for the next 7 days. What a contrast.
