Drought well and truly over in this part of the lake district, very heavy rain most of the evening and currently 6.6mm in the rain gauge. Forecast is for 17.7mm to fall this evening and a further 4.1mm tomorrow. I would be surprised if there isn't local flooding.

Dry overnight and no thunderstorms. Minimum temperature 11.8c. Some early watery sunshine but now generally overcast. Tops clear. Fells that are not covered in bracken looking very brown. Met Office - Yellow weather warning for rain for period from 1900-2359 tonight and then 0000-1200 tomorrow which comes as a welcome relief for firefighters that are now constantly out for brain dead visitors who think that BBQ's are good idea when everywhere is tinder dry.

Not officially according to the Met Office- the warmest place in the country yesterday was Rostherne, Cheshire at 31.3C.
That Portinscale site must not be a standard official site.

A day that deteriorated quite significantly as it went on. The morning was sunnier than I expected and stayed dry, a promising start, lunchtime stayed bright but cloud encroached by early afternoon, by about 4pm the rain arrived and the rest of the day a write off, heavy rain, gusty wind and cold. Current temp 6.8 degrees. Feels more akin to a winter evening than an April one.
Tomorrow could well bring snow to moderate levels and temps will remain supressed.
All the high fells have a good covering. Even Wolf Crag on the Old Coach Road has a covering. Sleet falling here during heavier rain showers. Current temp 2.9c

Easter and absolute Cumbrian no go for us.
Grown tired of the scrum.I feel your pain …it’s as bad as I have ever known, roads impassable for farmers and buses … parked on double yellows and passing places. Worse than that though is the sense of entitlement of many of the visitors

my local mountain Blencathra (2,848') has snow forecast to fall from Tuesday to Friday next week, at some point during each day.
Before that however perfect lakeland hill-walking and rock climbing weather. Very busy at valley level, fortunately not many seem to be able to make above 1,500 feet. Catbells the limit for most.

Not as chilly as I though it might be overnight, with low of 3.0c. Sunny start which comes as welcome relief after 4 days of almost constant rain. Becks and lakes all nicely full. Highest pressure now since last Tuesday afternoon.

Torrential rain at times both overnight and into this morning. 12.6mm so far and further heavy rain due during this evening. Waterfalls and rivers will be impressive tomorrow. Overnight low of 5.9c and currently 7.3c. At least the mobile fish and chip van visits tonight
