  1. 2.5 c now in North Newbald at 10.30pm and dropping fast ......completely clear skies now .....( temp was 5 c at 9pm when i last checked) ps . just had a text from my friend in Durham to say it was snowing there
  2. great to have the local threads back .............lots of rain today in North Newbald .........looking forward to a wintry mix ...then snow as the week progresses
  3. a great run ....and in a timeframe that i can believe in at last. The Easterly now appears nailed on and a huge change noticeable on these shores by Sat. The high is in an excellent position and the pool of cold air looks astonishing to me ( albeit i am still learning ) More snow potential on his run by the looks of it , rather han just frost and fog. The Atlantic also looks very quiet on this run
  4. sleet here at 12.30 on the Yorkshire Wolds near Beverley ..... ice accumulating on car windscreens
  5. a good summer for East Yorkshire , with lots of warm sunny days in June and Aug ( July was not great anywhere by the sound of it ) ( better than 2007 and 2008 in terms of rainfall and temperature )
  6. Raining hard now .....with the occasional flake of sleety stuff ......too low down here

  8. a good 2-3 cm covering in North Newbald ( 10 miles from Beverley ) ......a lot more up towards High Hunsley JS
  9. Hi Iceburg ....my mum lives in Shillingstone ....she describes the road to Sturminster Newton in a similar fshion. Have you climbed up Hod or Hambledon Hills in this snow ? ...it must be fantastic
  10. where were you today in the Wolds ......i was up at Kirby Underdale ......amazing
  11. looking very grey to the north .....have had several heavy snow showers here already .....but nothing really settling ( looking good for later on today .....and perhaps Sun evening )
  12. 9.26 and a light snow shower here now ...just East of York ( still -1 c )

  14. does the radar suggest any chance of heavy showers as far inland as York ? .......we have had very little snow so far this week
