  1. Still HP trending even further South, looks like its going to be a dry (although some sharp frosts) one. Well needed for some areas. Like my new animated GIF Sig? Appropriate for this weeks most talked about thing.
  2. Yes, definitely precipitation is going to be the key thing here. Needs to be strong flow or divergence will cap precipitation, adding to the high pressure profile.
  3. 2 add-ons had exceptions in my firefox, deleted one called personas?? The other was a mozilla one.
  4. I'm guessing it is adware or something of that nature. A small virus? I'm reluctant to use some of those bot type programs as I had problems before with one that erased my whole HDD.
  5. So, in my profile there are a few words highlighted that when you scroll over them a drop down ad appears. Where did they come from as I didn't put them there? Even to the left and just below my avatar were it says "Weather and member watching expert". The word weather has it too. Anyone any clues and can it be removed? Nevermind, they have dissapeared for some reason.
  6. Well, NEO site saying this: http://www.jpl.nasa....elease=2013-061 interesting to note the size and that they say it was ment to graze the atmosphere (so possible that gravity forced it to strike). Still though, Russia will have a better idea of what the circumstances are regarding this at the moment. I say "ment" like they knew about it, but they actually said looks like it was going to graze, or something to that effect.
  7. I've been reading and watching the different encounters and clips of this, fascinating stuff and well worth the time for newbies to NEO Project to learn about magnitudes, LD, etc.
  8. The video for that Russian Meteorite is amazing. Would scare people to death seeing it in real life. You can even hear the guy go "Woah" as his heart skips a beat.
  9. Quite enjoying the mildness today, house is relatively warm. The heating bill will only go down from here. Unless of course late February and March have something in store.
  10. It's not organised yet, we are putting forward ideas. Everyone is invited. I might be able to help GeoffW, I live in Bangor. Snowjon does too.
  11. While the weather is cold and miserable outside, lets discuss plans for a meet-up. Had a message from Skywatcher and she gave me some ideas for places (hope she doesn't mind me sharing) and dates probably around April. We could make it a day thing or an overnight thing. Pints and pub lunch then some entertainment in the eve? Maybe a day trip to somewhere. Maybe we could get BFTV to play guitar for us.
  12. Glacier Point was pretty much agreeing that an Atlantic block of some kind looks good. No need to hang anything anywhere. In regards to the Eastward shift of things overnight, I wouldn't be surprised to see another shift East with the days runs bringing just a marginal fare for those in the East of the UK. Problem is, if they haven't perfected the slider interest, beyond that isn't really going to be "reliable" as it usually is. Could be a dumping on the cards, could be more snow in my fridge.
  13. Did you's see that Teits wasn't too happy about the precipitation and snow risk being further West? He may be right with the Eastern bias, but if Meto knew their models had a bias like that they'd surely call it themselves.
  14. Interesting, I haven't delved into the next proper snap yet, but will definitely take interest now in the weekends potential.
  15. Early doors yet, Still 23 days left. I'm sure they are still pondering over the weekends Easterly too.
  16. The low pressure system begins to move South and bring with it a milder uppers period, that's why the Meto are saying showers turning to rain today then turning wintry again. Overnight tonight. Precipitation will be less widespread though as the uppers won't be as cold as last night. Last night was rare in that we seen the -10 line come in off the Atlantic. I seen the heaviest snow I've had since 1995.
  17. 2-3 inches in windward facing drift areas and 1 inch or so lying on the ground. Just looked out to see my cat going crazy in it . lol
  18. Seems like the ground has frozen beneath it too. First batch just slowing now but looks like more on the way through the night.
  19. Well, just went out to let the cat in (poor bugger) and I have 1-2cm already and still coming down. Only been snowing (first of the spell) for 25 minutes.
  20. Was nothing here literally 20 minutes ago and since 00:40 it has turned white. 13 minutes and everything covered. Classic. And who says Westerlies can't deliver? lol
  21. Even snowing here in Bangor too. Just started and a little wet but fluffy flakes.
  22. Second shower of the day here, no signs of snow but a little sleety. I made a nice little lunch for myself. If anyone is ever having a tomato soup, be sure to add some mustard (teaspoon) and cheese. Lovely.
  23. The showers will get more wintery through the day. A hit and miss scenario at times like these.
