Very heavy snow here again, sky looks full of the stuff, is any where else in Essex seeing this? Can't just be colchester??
Looking very dark your way, when you finish with it send it here please
-
And spookily that started on Thursday 10th January
What is the date on Sunday
Tis my Birthday 10 th Jan 19??- now a extra foot or two would be better than any present

The numbers on there show the number of hours elapsed since the model was run. So if you click on '03' it's for 3 hours after the model run time. Look in the top left corner of the map, that's where it states the run time of the model.
Take it you got back from work to sunny Clacton okay ??

It's like Snowmageddon in C London
And now the NE Wind is picking up as well, method in my madness coming the 38 miles West to see some snow today, not a lot it seems down in Sunny SE Essex due to lack of posts from that area - either that or they have all lost Tinternet Connection due to the weight of the latest snowstorm
don't know about SE essex, But NE essex is doing brilliantly
-
Radar at 14:40 looks great. Plenty of PPN coming in over Clacton. I think it has it's eye's on London.
yup its definately over here at moment, big flakes, not lightning up at all - settling fast
-
OMG, we have Massive Massive thick flakes, biggest all day by miles !!!!
-
Snowing lovely here now, gone from lightish to moderate the last hour, now settling roofs turned white etc.
Think i'm right in middle of the band going from west-east, as long as doesn't sink i may see a couple cm,s
-
Norfolk, Suffolk are now orange in met office warnings
-
Concerned about that band over Colchester - looks like shifting south *SLOWLY* and affecting Clacton soon, what with the band coming down from the north it may be a fun drive home. Wondering whether it was a wise move to travel today...
Hi ya, we now have a sprinkling around Clacton
- only slight but covering quite quickly. Schools are shut, typical first day back!!!
-
Wow Iwade is just to my South - So will it cross the Estuary I wonder ??
Paul S

Dont always belive in the radar. Its been showing rain/snow here for the last hour, and not a drop of it, in fact there is more blue sky than clouds...
Yup we've had a whole snow band crossing over us now, and not one drop/ flake. Frustrating when your waiting to be under the band whats not even there !!!
wonder if Colchester got anything looked very dark towards that area a hour ago
Never mind lets hope for more this next week

Yes I've experienced Thundersnow and never ever wish to again on 17th Dec 09
I was picking my 17yr old daughter up from her dancing group about 20 mins drive away, driving along the seafront the snow started and i couldn't hardly
see infront of me-let alone the road i then had to drive across the marshes what where nearly unpassable due to blizzard like conditions. But i managed.I
just reached a main when it started flashing blue around me, all my electrics died on my car yet the engine was still running at the same time a electric
blue went across my windscreen- my thoughts were i'd been hit, clutching to the steering wheel with dear life the lights and electric all came back on in
the car.
I finally got home after what should have been a hour round trip after two
Everyone was talking about the thundersnow as much as the snow as its something unheard of hear, and so is laying snow!!
The next day i went to go to the shops to do the last bits of xmas shopping when again all my electrics died along with my car, so my poor car ended up getting towed to the garage.
After a anxious wait the garage phoned to ask what had i done to the car !!!, The battery was fried ( all cells totally emptied) the alternator was fried, All the wires in between !!!
I don't know if thye car got struck by lightning that night or if i was in some kind of electrical field .But all i know is that i have never been so scared in my
life and so glad to get home and after 9 yrs of waiting had enough snow to build a snowman with the kids
-
Will these showers filtering over the next few hours have any thundersnow with them like the pre-xmas event ??
As much as i love snow, blizzards and general cold weather, i don't really fancy having thundersnow again. yes it brought lots of snow and we had total
white out within 10 mins max. But it also cost me alot after my poor car got struck by lightning frazzling my alternator, battery, and all the bits in
between !!!
