well, well, well, if it isnt starting to lightly snow here after all.. (mood lifts- and bitter resentment starts to fade) still very atomised and wet, but its a start.. if the rain I mean snow starts to fall harder, then it might become all snow and the flakes might grow to molecule size...

Norfolk is GREAT for thunderstorms!!!!! lucky girl!!!! I'm sure you get snow there too! Norfolk/ E. Anglia did rather well last year for snow if I remember correctly. You will get the loveley easterlies that I am about 5 miles too far inland for! lol!! Another agonising fault with Nottingham. Too far west for easterlies (Newark is about as far inland as you can get to get snow showers) and too south for the snow from Yorkshire to get to us without petering out. Some times we can catch one from the cheshire gap. So you should fair well!!!! __________________________________________________________________________ Had a 2 minute burst of tiny snow grains blowing in the wind that you need an electron microscope to see, but thought I'd report this as its TECHNICALLY snaining out now

aww thanks 'loopy'!!!! +insert beaming little face+ Can you believe I actually have my house up for sale so I can move to the peak district for better weather!!!!! Not a lie! hahahaha!!!! So hopefully next winter I will be living in Crich which is about 800ft up and get lots of snow!!!! and storms too!!! as Notts always misses storms my about 4 miles. I hate this city (no offence to others that live in Notts!!!!!) I need MOUNTAINS!!!!!!! (runs screaming to the nearest mountain..)

I still cant believe I live in some type of micro-universe here in Nottingham where is rains all the time.. saying that the rain now has a misty-snain type effect to it... oh...wait.. no- turned back to solid rain. Ya gotta love the tropics... Lookin forward to summer now I. WANT. STORMS!

oh poo- its raining now and thawing like a bugger! me going to tescos.... I would love to say it will snow tomorrow here, but unless we have another super cold night like last night, I dont know if we'll get that... Nottingham has its own micro climate.. like last thurday it was similar to leceicester with it snowing for HOURS but it was so wet out and the ground was so warm that when I woke up I found it looking like a brazilian rain forest as oppossed to winter wonderland.. we shall see though! I am praying for clear skies tonight and the system to hit us at the same time as today pretty much. GFS still has us down with the sleet picture which doesnt boost confidence, but BBC seems to think we will get some. I hope so! Makes up for all the snow we didnt get most of the winter!

woke up to hearing the lovely sound of silence and muffled tyres. Woke up at 8am to 2.5" of snow in Notts. FINALLY!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!! I'm still hoping tomorrow gives some snow but I dont have my hopes up too far, as Im scared it might rain. Oh well.. At least we have some white stuff today!

started to snow yesterday evening mixed with rain about 5pm, and then finally turned to all snow about 10pm. Went to bed at 11.30pm to still see it snowing really good. Dreampt about snow all night. Kept dreaming i was going to the window to look outsite and it was all brown and green, and then would wake up still in bed with hope like a small child that it would be like when reality came at 7.30 am and i jumped out of bed and RAN to the window full of hopes and dreams to only open the curtains to find dare I hope for next week's Bedlam Blizzard?? Can it really get any worse for us in Notts??? lol!!! oh deary me...... At least it wasnt slippy out while walking my dog this morning!

Just got back from the post office and what a typical Notts Day out. My ACME rockets failed me AGAIN an the sheild lives on, and surprise-surprise its RAINING in Notts!!!! I dont need weather maps and computer models, anyone who lives in Notts knows it will rain in the winter and distant rumbles of thunder in the summer with far away anvils throwing lightning everywhere outside city limits hahahaha!! OK- Im exagerating before I get a tyraid of posts quoting my signature. but still- although we have had snow showers on many days, no real accumalting snow, so will make my YEAR if we get a good 4inch or more in the next week. My prediction for today and tonight for Notts City RAIN low 1.6C high 4.3C

Same here in Notts city, this entire winter, we have had a max of 2" of snow, and 1.75" was our biggest fall. I darent get excited about tomorrw yet, as I am so tired of having my heart be pulverised into atomised pieces from snow let downs.. It would be really ace if we had one decent snowfall before winter leaves. Hopefully tomorrow will pan out, if not there is some potential come week-end, although I had friday and then saturday as good potential snow days, only to be severely downgraded in the last run.. Monday next week was ace for 3 days, and now poo, and then Tuesday looked bang-on yesterday and now its just flurries... we shall see!!!! here to some hope for the east midlands to have potential snow tomorrow

yes I meant the 06z, that was a typo- i have been looking at the charts, and yes- next week does look better, but when looking at the charts all week, and having mega snow for next week, and slowly watching Monday's potential snow event turn into Tues being the potential snow event, (and thats having heavy and moderate snow for most of the day) to it only being lt. snow for about 3 hrs of the day on tuesday now, and the potential now onionsing from having hvy snow to light snow and with the mixed rain/snow symbol, I would personally put that down as a downgrade for me. BUT its only one run. Im just saying the pattern is the same, and that for the past 3 weeks, Nottingham has had potential snow for 4-5 days in advance, but as we get closer to the timeframe, it always dissapates. Its the pattern. Constantly chasing FI that never materialises. So YES, I HAVE been looking at the charts!
