  1. the cells intensified again! Still Worksop's getting blammo'd... Im too far south!! Im actually in the city of Nottingham, my best bet is the Newark cell to intensify and drift west.. regarding convective potential, I really need the sun to break through here, still no direct sun to burn away this cloud albeit its brightish out.. Im just stuck under this godforsaken gloom, just like yesterday. I reckon any sun will deffo fire up some cells here for sure, as its gone dead-dead humid out and there's warm pockets of air floating about as you walk outside (if that makes sense )
  2. ooo, you might y'know!! its heading due west, but it looks like its spreading out a bit and weakening
  3. Im zoomed in on that cell too!! Its gonna hit worksop any minute.. looks pretty good, is it dark near you??
  4. the cell near retford NW of Lincoln is intensifying, no sferics though yet. Too bad its too far north of me as the "cells" seem to be coasting in a westerly direction... Yeah- I reckon we get less storms these days than years ago... I only moved over here from America in the late 90s and remember an average of about 8 storm per summer and now I am lucky if I get 3. Back in America though and in the late 70 especially, we used to get some MEGA FRIGHTNING, HOLY SH*T storms like every 2 days, no joke. (that was in the 70s though) then in the 80s is was deffo about 15-20 per summer and they were really scary. I hope we get loads this summer, I really do!!!!!
  5. crackin vid that!! hahaha!! I loved it- Clouds breakin up a bit here, sun's not burned through just yet, but at least its not solid gray out anymore and there is some clouds definition... Newark looks like its getting a sharp little shower!
  6. Hey Sprites welcome to netweather!! FINALLY the Bolivian rain has stopped and its t-r-y-i-n-g to brighten up here, but no sign of any clearing clouds yet, just a brighter gray.. C'mon sun!!!!
  7. Nottingham has this stupid large shower to the south of it thats just hangin out and not shifting. Its blocking my sun!!! If it doesnt want to develop into a storm then it should SHIFT- I need the sun to come out to give me a chance with a storm or at least some rolling thunder for today, or even a nice chunkifer-CU to look at and give me hope All morning has been like Im in Bolivia without the heat- really misty foggy and vertical rain with no wind. VERY humid and quite tropical feeling out, but without the oppressive heat.. (is that an oxymoron?)
  8. wow!! that was really good!! I was picturing a little ropey worm cloud when I read your post, but that was deffo a funnel cloud in my books! That looked like if it touched down, it would be quite healthy looking tornado. Nice shape to it! I take it you could see it rotating? Couldnt tell in the vid, but ace shot anyway!!
  9. Just saw the BBC weather forcast and hopefully the same set up tomorrow with just about anywhere able to get a few convective showers and storms. So fingers crossed for tomorrow. Lots of sferics towards Cambridge, and a juicy little nugget south of Leicester, but dont know if it is producing thunder. It is intensifying though, thats my best bet so far, though its a looooooooooooooooooooong shot.
  10. You look like you should be in the best spot at the moment!! Nice line below you
  11. Netweather's Office HDQs... Now I see why the servers went down!! LOL!! (I'd hate to be under that if lightning hit!!) Looks like its trying to brighten up here now, but still completely overcast, misty and drizzly. Havent been out yet, but its looks dead humid. Really need the sun now!!
  12. 06z GFS has totally lowered my storm risk from like 220j/kg cape now down to 3--9.5 j/kg for today with a 10% storm risk. i would have thought my chance for a storm would have been better than that??
  13. Happy to see Notts is in the advisory zone at least! Some hope for me maybe! Still gray and murky out with showers, my best chances will if this can scoot off north and I get a bit of sun to help out convection, as I am a bit too north of the convergence zone me thinks
  14. That's a bit of a beast north of Gloucester!
  15. OMG!!! I would have had about 18 strokes and a coronary on top of that, never mind the brown stain!!!!! IMMENSE started raining here lightly, as the Derby shower tries to develop, but just cant seem to make it..
  16. c'mon little cell just SE of Nottingham, you can do it! Just grow a bit more and drift my way!
  17. goin dark to my west but think the storm/shower will pass me south. Just south of Ludlow is small but mighty looking, and stourport, you should get slammed any second now.
  18. the bottom of that Peterboro storm looks like its getting a bit of a hook on it, or just severe bowing. That storm is deffo top dog at the mo. Looks dead nice
  19. sun's been out for a good hour now and the sky is getting some nice chunkifiers bubbling up. Small shower near Belper north of me. hmmmm... there is potential!
  20. oooh yay!! I love the deep thunder, especially when it rolls on for ages. Odd how there is no sferics showing up, as this storm looks really full-on. Enjoy it and keep us updated!!!
  21. I cant imagine how that storm is producing, it really looks nasty on radar, surely there has got to be some sferics with that. I dont see any on the NW radar though Is the sky super-insane black?
  22. Looks like Ludlow's gonna get slammed in a minute
  23. ah yes, near leicester and loughboro? They will go east me thinks. The sun has peaked out here though, so thats good! Nice little line developing in W. Mids!
  24. WOW that Oswestry cell looks MEGA, deffo need people to report if its producing sferics! Maybe they are all taking cover with their computers turned off The Nottingham storm last night had rain I havent seen in years. It was like making weird bands in the street that looked like snakes or radio waves that were swirling in and out. I was like . There was a huge river going down hucknall road, it was crazy! That must have been what it looks like at 100mm per hour rain haha!! Peterborough storm looks like its getting potent. Notts is just covered in gray clouds at mo' cant see anything kicking off here, need a bit o' sun!
  25. I've got my eyes on those puppies too, although its a long shot if they reach Notts. Im not complaining though!!!!
