  1. I reckon we should have Katla erupt just as Katia is passing by Iceland and suck all the ash into the system and have a volcanicane!!!! I wonder what that would look like on satellite?
  2. NYC was really lucky, deffo! But the worst of the storm went more inland into Vermont and upstate NY and New Jersey. The coasts of North and South Carolina got hit bad, but its the inland states that usually dont get it so much that really suffered with the flooding. I just meant to say that I dont think Irene was "over-hyped" I think the flooding and intense weather they predicted was spot on, just the wrong area. They evacuated NYC cuz its dead low and on barrier islands. But the devastation was more NW is all.
  3. Please dont forget the MASSIVE flooding and loss of life with Irene though.. The winds werent of much note, but the flooding she caused was absolutely unreal in the mid-Atlantic states and New England. Over 40 people died from it. So Irene did impact the regions SEVERELY just not with wind paticularly. Check the floods out!! this is in upstate NY
  4. I absolutely love wind storms (albeit hurricanes, huge Lows, frontal gusts etc...) I know I shouldnt hope for such things, but I really hope we get a direct hit by Katia or the preceding Low before her, and get a super-rah,-rain-wind-end-of-days weather phenomonon (however you spell that ) BUT of COURSE I truly would not want anyone or anyones homes damaged from the event! So I always feel guilty about wanting such things, but I really do!!! Its so exciting to have full-on weather, I miss it! Im from New Jersey originally and we always got hurricane remnants (sometimes full hits too!) and INSANE thunder and lightning, tornadoes, blizzards, etc... Of course, I always would get scared too during such events, but exhilarated at the same time!!!! I really hope for a full-on weather escapade this week-end but with no damage or loss of life
  5. here's to your small little cell!!!!! I hope it blows up into a supermassive cell!!!!!!!
  6. OMG, seriously, the storm are forming a half eaten donut around nottingham. east of me is getting F5s, north of me is getting cells by the minute, just south of me between Leceister and Notts has a huge ameoba storm, and I am in the middle. The line breaks right over Nottingham and Leicester. If they have not formed now, they will not form I dont think, its like a real severe barrier. NOTHING west at ALL. I just watered my plants, as my back garden is turning into
  7. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  8. Y'know what, Im starting to fear Notts City will loose out AGAIN! The atmosphere doesnt seem as heavy now and everything is forming east of me!! Like just a few miles east! I cant even hear thunder cuz of the stupid cars outside my house... Im gettin a bad feeling that Im going to see nuthing again. Linc's ALWAYS gets stuff!! even east nottshire like Newark!! You guys always get snow in winter and storms in summer. This is so frustrating!!!
  9. just got in from post office and the atmosphere is truly explosive. Thunder could be heard for about 5minutes as the storm formed literally like 5 miles to the east of me and then drifted east They are forming closer to me now though, surely we should get something!!!
  10. the sky is absolutely BRIMMING with CGs and blackness and total stormesty!! Surely the skies will explode into storms all at once around me- it looks so thundery out!!!
  11. OMG!!!! I have been watching that collection of cells for like AN HOUR I have been so twisted over how close I am yet so far!!! RAAAAAAHHHH!! :wallbash: Nothing seems to be forming west of us neither +sigh+ I hate living in Nottingham!!!
  12. there's a beutiful storm streamer just SE of Leicester, too bad Im about 25 miles NW of it!! Cells keep developing in a line one behind the other. Some lucky sod surely has hit the lottery out there
  13. Ive gone outside and still cant see where this rain is to my north. Saying that, I reckon it will miss me anyway and now its deteriorating proper Nottingham style, so if it gets to me, it will be nothing but rain anyhow.... once this thing goes SE, I reckon thats it for me too, as I am on the line of the forming cells, but they all move SE and Im too west......+siiiiiiiggggghhh+
  14. Radar blob is so close to me!! But I live in a terraced house and my windows face east and west and I cant see a darned thing out my window that looks like it might be that cell! (and no, I cant go outside cuz I have my slippers and sweats on ) but its got to be close to me by now. I might rund down to the cellar and get the stepladder and look out my skylite on 3rd floor cuz then I get a 360 view.
  15. +awwr+ radar looks to set those cells that are north of me, SE but just a bit TOO east to hit me! Unless the cells turn more southerly in direction.... Newark looks like it might get hit though!
  16. After some beautiful radar blobs for NG5 area of Nottingham at 10.30 I am looking more positively forward to potential thunder today! The 10.30 radar looked way more impressive than what actual fell from the sky (just a 10 minutes shower) but north of me looked to get the core of the popcorn cells. After my shower passed, I am happy to report blasts of sunshine and cumulus clouds that look as though they have gone through a period of Inflation and are fat and whispy in nature as oppossed to cauliflour in character. Towers are starting to build now, so here's fingers crossed to a thundery day!!!
  17. FINALLY the sun's decided to join the party and now I can start to see some convection! YAY!!!
  18. That storm near Skegness looks nice! Sun is T-R-Y-ing to come out here... please sun!!!!!!
  19. That cell SW of London looks like it could be a nice little boomer. Anyone know if its gone electric yet?
  20. despo' need the sun to come out and play!! Notts could have some really good potential if these pesky clouds just SHIFT.
  21. Those showers out of Machester are heading towards Nottingham, and seem to be peppying up. Crossing fingers and toes they intesify as they head SW to me
  22. There's a nice pair of beasts just south of Bham, I'll bet they will go electrified if they arent already! Would be cool if they collided and became one large storm! I have nothing here on my horizons yet, but a lot of sunshine which is good, and some lovely looking CBs to my east
  23. anyone catch that giant red spot to the west of Brum on radar? Looks impressive!
  24. I thought that was a blimp! LOL!! WOW, those clouds are impressively dark
