  1. No mental anguish here any time of year, financial on the other hand is quite high right now.
  2. Just had the latest leccy bill land on the mat, can we get a move on with the warmer days and longer daylight please? this long dark and cold is costing me a fortune!
  3. Come on people, JennyJane1's post was clearly tongue in cheek and light hearted and in no way provocative, relax indeed and take the banter with it.
  4. http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/uk/london?month=2 7th of Feb for london is 5pm
  5. Bright, sunny and just a few bits of thin patchy cloud here, would be a nice day out if not for the cold and that breeze, frost has all but gone now.
  6. nice innit. looking forward to getting the warm longer days back.
  7. That flurry just after 07:00 this morning was short lived, nothing since has fallen, 0.3oC now but still frosty out.
  8. Morning all -0.3oC (risen from -0.4oC half an hour ago), cold, frosty And it is SNOWING! (light flurry anyway).
  9. Elon Musk video of SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket crash landing http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-30860258
  10. Sounds extreme Must admit I have no heating upstairs only down, whilst my bedroom is not that cold it only gets the ambient heat from the rest of the house, not a fan of it too warm when trying to sleep, plus once snuggled under the duvet it soon warms up nicely.
  11. Have you got an electric heater to use in the meantime?
  12. -0.3oC now, frost is well advanced on the cars, early start in the morning (before dawn) so expect to see a good covering of frost come daylight.
  13. Think the honest answer is no one knows, even the BBC weather this evening said that.
  14. Thought the mood swings was just for the MAD thread and friendly banter for the regional threads. Let's all hug and be friends
  15. Had to knock an hour in total off the light timer today, not bad so far.
  16. dropped to 1oC going by what the remote sensor in the shed is reporting, turning very white and frosty out now.
  17. BBC evening news forecast did not look like it was offering much in the way of snow for tomorrow, looks more wet only.
  18. Indeed, I was reading about it earlier, when you take the find and its apparent good shape into consideration it really is a shame it fell foul of some technicallity at the final hurdle. Colin (R.I.P.) and his team should be proud they got this far, lets remember space exploration is still a new thing in the grand scheme of things, and for it's day getting it built and to Mars for £50m is a staggering achievement. Would like to see someone else do any better with the limited funds and tech of the day.
  19. In typical time honoured fashion, I put the washing out and checked radar, and skies, all clear, walked into town and get hit by first light rain, then sleet and then a short but hefty burst of hail, washing remains wet.

Cold and dry with dull overcast tones is today's theme here weatherwise.
  21. Morning Not been out, looks colds, shed sensor is reporting 2.7oC, no frost visable and looks more dry and calmer than yesterday.
  22. No denying that the next few days and next week is looking a lot colder with some wintry precip almost certain for some in favoured places.
