A really really light dusting of snow grains here overnight - current temp. -4.2c

Lightly snowing here at the moment - current temp -2.4. I am just shcoked and suprised!

Was wondering (hoping for) the same myself? Countryfile forecast would seem to have poo-pooed the whole set up! Must have a look see at the Met Eireann farming forecast.

I remember it well! It was amazing weather - we had thunderstorms on and off for 48 to 60 hours and constant rain, hail and sleet (and that was at low level). I was supposed to go to meeting one of those mornings - I drove about 200 metres before turning back due to the rods covered in hail and slush - and this is in October! As far as I can remember the wind was NNE and showers were being generated over the Irish Sea and blown just into the Dublin area. I probably posted something at that time and have a pics that I will dig out. (I obviously didn't post here as I see that I only joined in 2004 !!! - probably wishful thinking but I do remember others posting?)

-5.7 here last night. Coldest temperature I have recorded here (in approx. 4 years).

Just had a light snow shower here - lasted about 10mins. Current temp. 1.5C.

I thought 2004/05 snow season was dead an buried here! Had a hard frost over night and just had a heavy snow shower which has given light covering. Current temp. +0.8C.

Heavy hail/snow showers here all night in Dublin. Current temp. 1.5C. Good covering of hail after each shower which tends to melt away before the next one comes along. The east/north-east wind has really picked up here - just worried that it's blowing 'warmer' air off the Irish Sea - temp. was 2.8C when I got up this morning.

Snowing steadily here now in Dublin. Current temp. 1.3C and still falling (down from 2.1C when it started about 6.30). Snow is sticking to cars, grass and roofs at the moment. From radar, it looks like we could be in for a couple of hours of snow this morning. I feel like getting christmas decorations down from attic!

'Gentle' sleet & snow now falling here in Dublin now since about 06.30 (no wind) . Temps gradually falling from 2.1C at 06.30 to 1.7C now. Hope they keep falling as there is a large band of rain/sleet/snow currently over Ireland currently sinking southwards.

Started off this morning clear and sunny here in Dublin - not a single cloud in the sky. Fluffy cumulus clouds built up all day and we had a snow flurry here about an hour ago. We now have high level cloud streaming down from the north/north east - hope that brings us something exciting? Current temp. 4.3C.

Nice. Just had a 15 min. 'blizzard' here in Dublin - very windy. Temps fell from 3.4 deg to 1.6 deg in approx. 5 mins. Snow stuck to grass and flowerbeds briefly and left a slushy mess on the side of cars.

Recent gust of 74mph at Dublin Airport (nearby to my location) and 94mph at Belmullet! It's turned out to be a lovely sunny day here - if a little breezy! Just hope the showers out to the west produce someting 'nice' when they eventually arrive here.

Woke up (6.30) to gentle snow here in Dublin. Snow stopped at about 7.30 but there is a good cover on cars, roofs and grass (melted off roads). Current Temp: 0.4 - Here's hoping for more through the day.

Light snow just beginning to fall here in Dublin. Temp. -0.5c. Just heard on BBC that 3cm had fallen in Belfast in the last hour - hoping this is moving south!

Have had sleety/rain/hail showers here in Dublin all day. Just had lightning in the last shower, which is an added bonus! Temp. has remained between 2C and 3C for most of the day as showers are coming in off the Irish Sea. Not optomistic about getting proper snowfall. :?

Two fairly heavy snow/sleet showers here in north west Dublin so far this morning. More expected. Temp. dropped from 3.7c to 2.4c in 10mins in the first shower.
