The sun came out for a few minutes, it warmed up quite a lot and then about 15 minutes later there was a very short but heavy shower. So there is certainly potential.
-
I see theyre putting these warnings out a few days before now, obviously don't want a repeat of last week.
-
And a nice big gap between the two warnings
-
Met office made a big mistake. Not even a warning was out when the cell started taking shape. So much for certain people ( Ian fergusson) saying that the chance of even one lightning strike was extremely low... Ha
Anyway, it's very warm outside now, not as cool as I expected from a colder front.
-
I told you I felt optimistic about it all! People were writing it off before anything had even happened. Not only did it happen, but we appear to have been one of the best places for that storm!
-
I assumed that the cold front had passed through here now but it still feels very warm and humid outside..
Heaviest rain I've ever seen this morning, I couldn't see out the window as there was a waterfall in front of it!
-
Certainly feels cooler here and fresher.
-
Gone very dark again. Lots of reports of roads closed and train lines too with the trains unable to pass the station!
-
I'm just about on the edge of this storm now.
-
Can see the skies over to the east getting very dark now
-
Just heard another rumble of thunder, no idea where from though
-
Its gone dark here again now, started raining again
-
MetO have updated warnings again: http://www.metoffice...ings.html?day=1
Whilst the image doesn't reflect it, just about everywhere in the UK is covered now...
I should hope so
That was the heaviest rain I have seen in my life, RainToday showed around 40-50mm/hr and 50mm+/hr at times during that storm!
-
Over clent looks very strange. You can see all the water evaporating off the trees and it makes it look like the whole area is covered in fog!
-
Just to add to the post that in addition more storms/heavy showers will erupt along the outflow boundaries of the MCS (both to the NE & SW of the MCS) as clearing skies will initiate strong solar heating
So now that storm has passed here, its significantly brightened up, that could help cause more storms?
-
I felt more optimistic from a few days ago for this than I normally do!
So much for some weather forecasts saying the chance of anything was very very slim!
-
I would love to know the rain rate . Extremely heavy rain, I can barely see out my window.
-
very heavy rain here and lots of thunder and lightning!
-
I can't believe how dark it has gone!
-
Just seen 2 lightning strikes now!
-
I haven't seen any lightning yet but I can hear thunder every 20 seconds or so
-
Send it this way please!!
-
Going dark now, big spots of rain starting to fall and can hear thunder rumbling in the distance.
-
Lightning radar looks pretty good and it's nice to see the net office warning just nudges into this area now.

Very cloudy to the left, to the right there are no clouds at all with the sun shining down, feeling increasingly warmer too. The heavy showers seem to popping up more often now.
