  1. MW, Obviously without giving me the keys to your house, where roughly in Maidstone are you, it covers a big old area and snowfall totals around the West fringes, Aylesford/Ditton/Larkfield are no where near yours, probably half. I'm hazarding a guess at Bearstead or maybe Boughton Mon' way.

We've actually moved to Staplehurst just before Christmas, but sadly I'm stuck with this username lol which tends to cause some confusion admittedly.  :D I seem to be within the western edge of the shower train, the eastern edge being Ashford way and all points in between here and Ashford having significant snowfall :)

  2. Put it this way - I have seen 8 hours of non-stop blizzard-like snow giving some 8cm or more on top of the lying snow. Pretty much 1cm / hr now that ain't bad, and most unforecast (scattered showers was the forecast). So I'm not complaining

Basically anything could pop-up this evening, don't give up just yet!

  3. Can you take a pic of the depth? I believe you, just want to see how deep the snow is down there!

I am totally amazed at how much I have here, I have never seen this much snow in my life! Truly amazing and it just keeps on falling!

    Anyway, pics as you requested...

and my car. The left hand side of the car (passenger side) has been exposed to the sun everyday so all the snow slides off here, only to be replaced overnight., Hence there is a lot more on the roof than on the left side !

    Hope that helps :)

  4. oh dear, a gap is appearing on the radar, currently around the Faversham, Whitstaballs and Sheppey area, moving this way! :(

our beloved trough is moving westwards, allowing the upper warm front on the other side of the Chunnel to move in - precip increasing over NE France, albeit light!

edit: panic over, the 'gap' was a blip :yahoo:

  5. its a bleak bit of road at the best of times

14 miles between junctions 8 (Leeds Castle) and junction 9 (Ashford North). I know what you mean!

    and still the blizzards continue...

Stupid white van keeps going past our house at 1mph with 'Rent a Van' on the side. It's the only vehicle I've seen all day on our estate

  6. Could you post some pics of it MW? :(

I would but the camera won't pick up the blizzard's we've got, the snow flakes are so fine and small but it's just wild put it that way :(

It's been snowing most of the day here but we haven't had anything really heavy. We've got 7 inches on the ground but about 5 of that was from yesterday.

to be fair, it's not heavy here either, but it's the wind that makes all the difference! looks wild out there

  7. Can literally see the snow falling just to the east of me, we are just getting the odd little flurry

have you been dry most of the day?! It's insane here, 7 inches on the ground now the most snow I've ever seen in this low lying part of the Weald!

Once it hits you you'll deffo know about it - surprised at the difference just a few miles can make.

  8. Kinda annoyed because the snow showers are not constant it's not helping the snow level

Not only has it thawed from alot of our garden plants , it's dripping off the car roof.. We must be just above freezing , i hate day time snow prefer it at night :D :D

they are here, been constant snow, albeit light, from mid morning onwards so far, blizzard conditions. Going for a measure in a sec.

    MW

  9. Have saved that Image as it is sooooo Funny!

I'd expect a BBQ Warning from the Meto this Afternoon.
