The thing that gets me is that Wolsingham isn't even that high up.
Don't think there is much chance of a degree drop in temperature, its risen that much since 7pm, from 1.1º to 2.1º. We had fine snow up until about then with slight new accumulations on the car windscreen etc.
Gods sake its 2.2 now. It is doing it on purpose.
Just chatting with BowEcho on two it appears orographic snowfall is ocurring to the lea of the pennines in west yorkshire. The easterly propogating this.

Yep we are in for one beast of a night. I'm staying up again I cannot resist. Due to arrive about 5pm to here. Central Northern England looks like the best place to be at the moment according to the radar, it's moving NNW and intensifying as it does so, with the worst likely to hit W and N Yorks initially (hence the "extreme" weather warning for these areas from the Meto!)
There is a risk of it turning to rain at low levels towards the end; hopefully this won't be too much of a problem, especially below 100-200m.
We have 3-4" at the moment. This takes me back to the times when you awoke to no kerb lines between road and paths just level snow.seems so long ago now

Yep, 50cm not out of the question I would say...
Hopefully 20cm here on the edge of the Pennines, bringing our grand total to nearly 30cm.
Good afternoon, the meto radar is showing an area of precipitation in the s/w midlands and it is intensifying as you look at it.The more northward movement the stronger it becomes.quite a night for the north midlands and above awaits.

Just had a quick look at the 06z - this wintry weather could possibly last for the next seven days (!!!) with a couple of heavy falls during that time - could well finish up being one to remember alongside '79, and '82, and in terms of snowfall surpassing '87, '91 and '96 - how good is that
Yes PTFD some serious snowfall tonight methinks.Various other events too if the GFS 06z is to verify

I hadn't but considering your over aggressive stance when questioned about the errors makes one wonder why you're developing the theory as it seems cast in iron.
RJS response was much more mature and honest agreeing that were errors which is fine. I was then quite prepared to look on Jan and Feb and see how that goes. If that came up trumps then you've got 66% accuracy which would be fairly impressive would it not. However from my stand point it seems that the forecast is going to be right whatever happens and that anyone that questions it will be met with a hostile response. A response which differs starkly when GP made a forecast in the past which went array. Instead of blasting anyone who questioned it he said it went wrong, went away looking at why it had and has come back with much stronger more accurate predictions.
I do not think Fred and Roger have done a bad job so far.May i suggest that you my friend were looking to dismiss the forecast at any opportunity from what i have just read

Looking at the latest radar output i would say the METO will have to issue flash alerts imminently. There is some serious north sea convection occuring for yorkshire upwards.
