  1. At long last a halfway decent storm last night means that finally I can say goodbye to the club for this year I do hope you get your storm soon Jane-Louise
  2. Many thanks TWS - shall look up to see if my suspicions are confirmed Ha - glad you liked it My brother sent it to me and I just couldn't resist adding it as seemed somehow appropriate!
  3. Eastbourne has been truly dismal this year particularly where storms (or rather the lack of) are concerned. Cd someone pls advise where I could get information on storm stats this year vs previous years for different parts of UK?
  4. I was really hoping that 2011 would prove an improvement over last year but how wrong could I be?! One pathetic rumble yesterday in Eastbourne and that was it - particularly annoying as there were storms so near (husband reported a great storm in Lewes only a few miles away where he was working) I wasn't even around earlier in the year when a storm did descend on Eastbourne albeit briefly - one flash of lightning & a rumble of thunder reported from those who were there So please, please Louise/Phil can I renew my membership?
  5. In answer to yr question. Just heard a couple of dIstant rumbles so far. Blue sky being rapidly replaced by cloud. That's it si far for Eastbourne. Wl keep you posted
  6. 13 for me please - both my daughter's and my birthday is in May so I'm crossing fingers it's a good month
  7. Me too so bit confused why we are still in the green. It was -1 when I left for work this morning
  8. Another day of showers and general thunderstorms across many parts of England and Wales tomorrow, with embedded trough disturbance(s) and convergence likely focus for storms. Any idea likely area's to be hit. Everything thundery seemed to miss us here today except for a few rain showers
  9. Anything to look forward to for us Coast?
  10. well and so my membership continues. Can't really believe it. One of the stormiest days (if not THE stormiest day) of the year so far and what do I get? A pathetic shower or 2, wasn't even enough to prevent me having to water the plants later on. Some parts north of me have even had flash flooding. Bl**dy typical
  11. I've given a 9 in the vote from me. Eastbourne has well been living up to its reputation for being the sunniest resort in the UK and we have had pretty much non-stop glorious weather since mid-May or thereabouts. June was beautiful - the BBQ has been well used this year - and although slightly cooler July is holding its own so far. Only knocked 1 point off for lack of T-Storms IMO they shd go hand-in-hand with hot weather but so far this area has been sadly lacking
  12. As usual glorious blue skies and heat here in kent/sussex (live in sussex, work in kent) with not a sniff of rain let alone a storm today. In fact the small shower yesterday was the first time I have seen any rain in weeks. Wouldn't mind so much but the IOW radar shows the mid & northern part of the country lit up like a bloomin christmas tree ....
  13. Hmmm - didn't your mother ever tell you not to gloat !!!
  14. many thanks at least I know wot to pack now!
  15. I'm attending my best friends wedding this Sat (24th) in Bedford. Prob too early but if anyone cd give me a heads up on what the weather might do would be greatly appreciated:)
