    Does anyone know exactly how significant CIN is to the development of thunderstorms? What are the sort of values that would generate different strengths of storms and what would be the sort of thresholds that would prevent them.

    Hey, here are some pictures I took early morning just outside of Bath, was quite a good thunderstorm, lots of flashes and some spider type lightning, very loud, but does anyone know what cuased the strange long bit hanging off of it?
