  1. Well, think I'm gonna grab a couple beers, put on some 90s country, sit back and see how tonight pans out!!!!
  2. Mate of mine gave me a ring little under 1 hour ago and he was down Crayford area south-east London saying the lightning was intense. And to think I got relatives down Maidstone way too, lucky bggers!!!
  3. BINGO!!!! Lightning sighted miles to the north-west of here, just lit up the sky, I suspect around Aylesbury. Anyone over Milton Keynes, Northampton way, keep a lookout!!!
  4. There is some dark as hell clouds in a furious looking sky outside! Instability to the max! Looking West to Oxfordshire, I swear something is about to kick off round here, and it just so happens some small cells look to have popped up on net-weather's radar.
  5. Very muggy and lot of Alto cumulus Castellanus here. So, is central Southern England and up into the Midlands gonna get anything tonight then, or not?
  6. Ahhhhh damn. Just got back from a boiling drive into town and reloaded net-weather radar and strikestarEU.com Those French monsters look like supercells and this has all the hallmarks of a Kent Clipper!!!You lucky s*ds in Margate!!!!
  7. Afternoon all! Had technically, three thunderstorms last night!!!! One around 1:30AM, the huge one, where literally the sky flashed every second or two, then next one woke me up around 4:30-5AM, only a few strikes but this time seemed directly overhead, very loud thunder. Then at 8AM there was another small storm directly overhead and the thunder was deafening, sounded like a gunshot going off next to my ear. Awesome stuff! Hope there is more! May all those who didn't see storms last night, get some over the next 48 hours!
  8. Where to start? That storm was honestly the best I've ever witnessed. Cannot remember a storm with more lightning flashes ever, than that. The lightning from this makes the storm I witnessed in Phoenix, Arizona back in 2008 absolutely tame. Must've seen over 1,000 flashes tonight. You know, if I was to be the biggest moaner ever, I'd highlight the fact that funnily enough, where I was situated actually was sandwiched between two different cells! Most of the lightning tonight was to the west and north-west, whilst the second part of the storm there was ample lightning East of here too, towards London way. Nothing is perfect though, and I got some footage. That was still truly immense. Lightning every second, literally.
  9. Got two small video clips on my Olympus camera, don't know how they'll turn out but here's hoping they're decent. July 17-18 has to be the BEST thunderstorm I've ever witnessed. Lightning here literally every second, this has been amazing.
  10. Loads of lightning here!!! Mostly west of here not right over us but still good viewing.
  11. In South Buckinghamshire....loads of strikes lighting up the sky some way away to the West here!
  12. Wonder if those down in Penzance and the far south of Ireland can see the lightning? If they can, they're in for quite a sea-spectacle.
  13. Back in the South-East this week, really looking forward to the setup into tomorrow and Saturday. Some huge CAPE values and the potential for some explosive storms. Ewwwr, if these storms are as explosive as my stomach's been this week, then the thunder and lightning could well be epic!!!! Having to fast today because the cramps were that bad last night.....and not because of Ramadan.... Must be all this invisible CAPE in the atmosphere!!!!
  14. After the very very distant strikes about 2 hours ago, where thunder wasn't even heard, have just had a better storm still taking place at present. Just seen about 15 strikes to the west of here, slightly closer this time with thunder, and also some torrential rain too.
  15. Joke this. Bloody loads of lightning to my south-west....some huge flashes but so distant I can't hear the thunder and partially hidden by the big ash trees across the road....if I'd have known reading and the surrey area would have this much lightning, I'd have left 2 hours ago and found a high spot to watch.
  16. Wondering whether to drive west or if it'd be waste of time. All I can say is I'm seeing loads of little flashes to the south-west of here.
  17. My location says presently Exmoor but I'm back home sweet home in Bucks for a week. Just east of High Wycombe. Just seen a few small flashes to the west and some quiet growls of thunder. Wondering whether to get in the car and floor it west. I've just driven 4 n half hours from bloody North Devon to Bucks now the Gods wants me to head back west....You can't win.
  18. Just had another thunderstorm on Exmoor! I think I should bloody stay down here rather than go back to the south-east next month. We had a corker of a storm on early Saturday morning about 4AM, immense lightning, and just now we had simultaneous downpours, hail and 20 strikes of lightning or so, which were right above and bloody loud. Good stuff indeed.
  19. Loads of lightning here in Exmoor and the windows in this house are useless for me to witness, oh my luck eh!!!!Half tempted to get in car and drive up the road to the lookout point but really don't know if its worth it.
  20. Nice one to whoever provided that live webcam stream from Nantes or wherever it was in France. Some frequent lightning there!
  21. Been in Exmoor the last few months working, may as well have my typical moan about lack of thunderstorms because I don't see Devon and Cornwall getting anything special like back home in Bucks. Went to a lookout point earlier today about 4pm looking North across the channel to Wales and saw a hefty cell explode out of nowhere which I believe caused some heavy showers and perhaps thunder/lightning over Wales earlier, not sure. Don't think North Devon will see anything impressive in the way of lightning but perhaps Gloucester stands a better chance and I have to drive that way tomorrow. Wonder if it's worth getting up extra early to chase storms further east......
  22. Lol that is freaking hilarious. Something to brighten the mood on another pathetic night for Britain on the storm front of things. Bloody Belgium and the Netherlands stealing all the fun again, when will it end I say!?!?! And the French well north-eastern France must get tired of the constant lightning every summer.
  23. Storms are heading away from Britain for sure. Load of b*ll*cks as per usual.
  24. Raining lightly here now in south Bucks. Question to any forecasters/pro's here: Where are these thunderstorms on the Eastern edge of this MCS heading? Are they curving round and moving north-westerly or are they moving plain north-easterly and away from Britain?
  25. Unfortunately, I have a confident feeling that in South Buckinghamshire we will get sweet-FA in the way of lightning and looking at the radar, the storms will be another Kent-Clipper, if that.... One word describes this typical setup. B*ll*cks.
