  1. Is it just me, or does that beefy precip that has been sat in the north sea for ages look like its coming directly over the humber?

Edit : Metoffice have just updated there warning for yorkshire tonight, wooo! I think i might have to stay up! Surely somebody must be up? lol

  2. We have missed out on most this week, but what we got is the heaviest and most persistent snow in Yorkshire so far in this cold spell, the snow depths are no where near as deep in east Yorkshire/ North East Yorkshire. Most places in the east is averaging 10-15cm of snow, while we are averaging 20-35 cm of snow. I know what you mean though is annoying, but what is really unfair is Western areas of Yorkshire have more snow than the east, when the east at first was expected to achieve the most amount of snow.

I don't know what you mean by "we would just have patches of ice", there is zero thaw here except on the roof, so I don't know why you would have patches of ice?

Actually,i think you will find we are averaging about the same as you, no were near 10-15cm?!?!?! lmao

  3. Its all a very slow process-the fact that those on the Lincs coast are seeing lightning shows the unstable and, believe it or not, markedly colder air, especially with height, but also with lowering dewpoints is going to make it very slowly and probably erratically west or SW over the area through the night.

patience boys and girls your snow is going nowhere for perhaps a week at least other than ablation(a natural evolution) some slight sun thaw at times and consolidation as it sinks on itself with its own weight.

As to the snow-hail-thunder showers, then follow the radar or look at the Extra outputs each time they come out. Thunder snow is probably to be confined to a narrow coastal belt.

    Thanks John

  4. If you are not been specific how am I and other members supposed to know? We can't read minds.

You were of the mark on the last cold spell, very few places achieved more than 5cm of snow. East/South Yorkshire didn't even receive any (bar the odd dusting) snow.

How can you say East Yorkshire didnt get any? The snow was up to a good 4-5 inches in the last cold spell, there is still the remains of the snow on some roads in the country near by!
