Well had the first flakes of blowing snow at 9.45am right by the East Lothian coast:) I was out and about later and it was snow showers right over at Dalkeith /Sheriffhall roundabout then gets brighter to the Far East heading to tranent bypass. Now back home & Suns out.

Starting to feel the windchill now! Skies are clearing here and I can see some blue sky. Wind helping to dry all road surfaces again.

Bbc app now moved to sleet & only light snaw fir here eh!! Is windy and rain has now eased:) I'm off to the hairdressers (aye on the snowiest windiest day) so I'll sit and watch the snow as I enjoy a couple of hours off.

Make sure the phone is charged - in case of power outs during the storm. Can still take pics and hope the 4G is working lol - if you're lucky enough to be in an area with 3G or 4G lol

Looks like more probability of heavier snow here around lunchtime onwards tomorrow?! Interesting

Hawesy I agree it's not that likely easties will see all that much but hopefully something around rush hour tomorrow looks feasible:) It is a waiting and watching radar/lamppost shot I think. Although I think my daughters hockey tomorrow afternoon/evening might be cancelled

At least there's some pink in the East Lothian area this time. We'll see how much appears . Lamppost area - East Lothian reporting for duty!

Gogoslo we were having a conversation with my daughter she is called Elsa. Yes really !!! And she was singing last night, then asking when are we going to get enough snow to build a snowman?! I think I'll suggest a move to Boston lol!! Lorenzo I keep watching the weather channel updates!! Showed last years similar snow amounts using their snow blowers. Fancy one of those snow blowers they look fab!

Oh heck cold and sleet for wed/thurs here? im getting that sinking feeling. Looks like we're in a bit less of the cold than first thought here. Why does America need to have a cold spell at the same time, fire up the jet and potentially nudge our cold away earlier? Hmmmm I hate Monday's

Will wait & see till nearer timescale for any ideas of snow potential for Easties. Still all looks v promising indeed. It's been fun chart watching so far.

Frosty start here. Light cloud and feeling chilly. Wish someone had bought me a weather station for my Christmas- anyone any recommendations on best one to get?? Charts looking like they are onto something!!! Not saying another word in case I jinx it lolâ„ï¸

Difficult to choose a month but I'm going for March, with early bulbs through (snowdrops are my favourites). Planting for summer and anticipation of warmer weather and lighter days & nights ahead. Bird song increasing and just more chance to be outdoors and my chooks laying lots lol

Another lovely day here, quite bright and still cold. Ground is rock solid. Ice intact. Lots of swings in models so no real clue yet of what might occur.

Blooming chilly again tonight. At least having some cold and frosts has felt more like winter, even though here in the east we've had v little snow.

Ground Rock solid. Still sheet ice and some shaded snow preserved in the cold temps. Actually much sunnier today than was forecast. Some very intriguing signs from the trop and models for something potentially Colder again by next weekend. Although it's not going to be all that "warm" before then either. Actually liking the lack of mud. Here's to more fun watching the weather story unfold

Catch did you say showers right through!!! That would be amazing!! Thank you for that info. Monday's work will be made all the better with snow falling outside sounds good to me. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope you get some down in Kelso too.

Well was up at 3.30am all clear- no snow. Woke at 8 a very light covering which has now melted on my patio and table
