  1. Hmm it was a bit more than that to be fair. Local radio, local twitter etc all stated might get the odd light snow flurry. We had moderate to heavy snow for an hour.
  2. Kind of turned to sleet now booooooo Synoptics: 7/10 - been interesting Snow: 8/10 - as I said earlier 4 snow days out of the last 6. We only managed to get off our estate by car yesterday and I spent all weekend dragging my 2 yr old boy around closed roads in a sledge so not bad. Frosts: 5/10. Strangely disappointing. No real hard frosts despite the snow cover which I find unusual. Most ponds etc only icy round the edges.
  3. Yes exactly. LIGHT snow or sleet. This was MODERATE to HEAVY snow. (Either that it I've been hallucinating for the last hour). No one forecast that.
  4. Oh dear kind of stopped now. That was good! Seeing as that wasn't predicted by anyone I saw though, I live in hope for more this afternoon :-)
  5. Yeah Biggin Hill getting involved, great stuff. Winter whiteout here (I exaggerate but only slightly)
  6. Mostly melting on impact I must say BUT best, heaviest snow we've had this winter! (Obviously not as cold or as prolonged as last Friday but I'm not complaining. Nice surprise - where did this come from?!?) Right them massive 50p stylee flakes now (can you tell I'm excited??)
  7. Where are you Biggin? (my phone doesn't show locations). I'm not blahhing it's properly snowing here
  8. This is some of the heaviest snow we've had all week! Nice surprise. Again! YAARGHHH!! PROPERLY snowing now. The heaviest snow all year! Godalming - snow capital This keeps up, heavy snow on our snow base, it's going to accumulate QUICKLY
  9. Moderate snowfall in Surrey's snow capital Godalming! That's 4 out of the last 6 days we've had decent snow. Not bad :-) Getting heavier! 5p flakes!
  10. Right this is how I see it! Latest fax charts and the 06z suggest a major change to me. Slightly milder on Sat yes but then polar vortex to intensify and pull southwards. Troughing features then to spill over from the low pressure system over Newfoundland causing a major undercut over UK with deep cold feeding in from the east. Back in the freezer - game on!
  11. Great weekend! Anyone know the latest regarding tomorrow??
  12. Right. Great day today. Even better day on Friday (for me). What about tomorrow? Anyone know the latest?
  13. Still snowing in deepest Surrey. Light snow all day. Brilliant - much better than I expected. A few cm's top up from Fridays snow fest :-)
  14. Well snowing now for a good while in Godalming. MUCH better than I was expecting :-)
  15. Don't expect Godalming to get much tomorrow. What I plan to do is spend all day on this thread moaning about how UNFAIR everything is, how it's all the media's FAULT, and that the snow event is actually RUBBISH anyway.
  16. All this IMBY whinging is boring. Yes it's not 1963 but yesterday was clearly a significant and memorable snowfall for MANY parts of the country including here in Surrey. Just because you don't get snow don't dismiss the whole event as rubbish.
  17. Regarding Sunday and the mysterious French snow. I find it quite unusual that a such a short time frame this is still so vague. What do ppl think? Is Surrey in the frame for this? How much and how long?
