  1. Would be really NICE if England could but it seems to me that they just have not go it anymore they just seem to scrape through, none of the big scores like they used to have when the Phil De Glanville was captain, back in the day! We will see tomorrow
  2. Yep totally agree could have done with another 10 mins and I bet Wales could have got them, they seemed to have moved up a gear in the last half. Well 2 good matches on tomorrow. Scotland to win, then England. Well that might happen, who knows
  3. I know! what is it all about, must be that they all have better social lives than us. There again I have been watching the rugger. will check back later to see what 'schmac' has to say about the run which is coming out soon.
  4. Evening to all who are left. It's like the Mary Celest on here. I would have thought with the 'storm' occurring on Sunday this thread would be alive, but alas no. Seems only the snow brings everyone out. Perhaps Matt has gone surfing. Anyway been very gusty here this afternoon, great listening to it howl over the roof. Looking forward to Sunday with a little intrepidation though
  5. Hi Guys, Have a read of Ian Fergussons blog and see what you think about the action that is possibly going to happen on Sunday into Monday. Heaven help us if this hits us full on.
  6. Hi SS, I read Ian Fergusson's updated blog on this one today and it is a Midlatitude Cyclone, which apparently as he says is going to travel up the English Channel to us over the weekend. Have read if you have not heard about this storm.
  7. What ever is going on with our weather. Sunday is supposed to be the day when we are getting some very low pressure, strong winds and rain was hinted at yesterday, (obvioulsly if the low does hit us then it could be alot worse, but BBC dont want to panic folks yet). Not snow! I was getting myself hyped up for some exciting weather with regards to the wind and rain. Considering we had sleet and snow here on Tuesday and did it not come to fruition, only looked pretty, so I thought that was going to be the scenario until next winter.
  8. hi Guys, What is the take on the tropical storm that could hit us on Sunday or scoot past us into France?
  9. I always compare the two but they never tally up with any forecast at all. What is your take on next week?
  10. Evening Matt, Surely there will be some good swell at sea for the surfing then with all the rain. I dont know if you have ever gone on Metcheck (prob a swear word on hear) and look into next week say for Bristol my area, and they are showing the cold is still with us till at least the 10th March, sleet and snow showing for all of that week, and no sign of any mild temps.
  11. Thornbury is like a winter wonderland, snow up to the kerbs. Total white out! But here in Bristol only rain at present.
  12. Hi Matt, Have you heard that we are supposed to be getting gales to severe gales by the end of the week. Apparently it is on the charts but I dont have a clue where to even find these charts let alone know how to read them. All I can remember is that it was from Ian Ferg thread last night.
  13. Wow lets keep everything crossed then. Will look out for your posts. Oh yep I must say that a quick trip to the supermarket will be out when you live in the country. Which area are you in exactly? Have a good evening!
  14. Thanks for that Mat, Would'nt it be great if we had a direct hit, that wouldl make a change from the North and the East getting the big stuff. I would say that that would have a given us a great end to this winter, but over the past 9 nine years that I remember we have had snow around the begining of March, that is since I had my daughter she has seen snow every year but one around her birthday the 5th of March. So we are not out of the woods as yet as they say. I must admit I bet it is wonderfull seeing the moors covered in snow. Love that part of the country, thinking of moving down that way in a couple of years. Move out of the smoke to a quieter pace of life as they say.
  15. Hi Matt, What is the boundry line for next week with regards to the snow, as you said you are not due any down there, what is Bristol's chance?
  16. Morning All, Regular snow flurries here too. But not worth hoping for anything to get excited about. What are the whispers on NW that the SW is going to get something special next week. I'm not into the charts yet so no point at me looking. Any pointers from anyone?
  17. Thanks for that Matt, I suppose I was hoping it would swing around SW and give us a good dose? Instead of skirting away from the SE. I hope that makes sense to you.
  18. Can anyone tell me please as I am a new learner? As the cold snap is coming from an Easterly and I have read it is moving more southerly what does that mean in terms of SW being in line for very cold weather and snow. I have read and understood that the snow amount is not possible to forecast until hours before it happens though , but I would be interested to know as I did go out and get extra food before the last lot of snow fell as we were unable to get out for a few days, but after the snow started to thaw the supermarkets were out of the basics (because people were not prepared or did hear in time). as I followed what everyone was saying on here I was prepared.
  19. With the excitment growing with the model outputs looking more to a snowy spell again, can anyone confirm if the charts do come off what temps we are looking because with the GFS+144 posted by Paul B shows some very deep blues and as a beginner on here I'm not sure what temps we are looking, but i'm sure if it is very cold.
