So this year, we’re off to Prague in the hope that we’ll see some restive flakes .... so it’ll probably mean the uk will be blanketed

This is absolutely fascinating stuff MIA... and quite compulsive reading... I look forward to the updates every day... I can’t wait to see if this is a portent for our winter!

OK OK...... we're talking T+240 AND 13%

More intrigue and anticipation this morning - certainly the outlook is intriguing especially as its only the cusp of November!

This mornings US NIC chart for Northern hemisphere snow and ice shows a large increase in snow cover in Russia.
Looking very impressive now... see below
It also shows that most of the Arctic is now showing increasing sea ice.
The US sea ice areas have increased slightly today, and over to the east there seems to have been a steady gain of ice in all the 'inner' sea areas.
Looks like another century plus gainer today.
Back to confirm when Masie is out at about 14:30.
MIA
Thanks MIA.... just wondering are there direct meteorological implications for the increased snow cover for this little island.... many thanks

Northern Hemisphere snow 3 weeks ahead of forecast?
Does that mean spring is going to be 3 weeks early? Lol
Being serious....is anyone else confused by the dichotomy between Atlantic dross to the West and early onset of snow to the East?
