that's what I'm hoping temp down to 0.9c and decreasing still slowly so who knowsThe snow over Leeds at the moment is moving quite quickly north. Could us in the South actually get something in the next few hours?

yep it indeed is however on the odd occasion it can be a sweet spot in streamer situations just hoping tonight we get some proper snow and to give the cover a fighting chance of lasting tomorrow hopefullyLet's not get carried away haha, having worked in Thornaby for 3 years I know how much of a snow-free zone it is! A sugar coating there is the equivalent of 6 inches anywhere else.

Few flakes starting to drift down again.... All I want is a proper thick covering instead of this sugar coating

Will be after midnight for sure, it's the area of showers currently over north east scotland that will be heading down the north sea to our patch... futher south you live longer it will take and prob not as intense maybe.
Yup id say 1am to 2am for north of region and 3am ish for us in the south of the region

Hovering around 1c here but snow outside isn't melting ; hopefully the temp drops a little just so it can freeze a little better and then the showers later bring some depth hopefully

Slushy covering here it's an I've rink out there currently ; hopefully this will freeze properly and more snow will come later and make more of a covering.

Looks to be quite a gap between the fun-filled trough affecting the south of the region and the clump of showers off the coast of Eastern Scotland,so hopefully a freeze up before they arrive.
Yup id be happy for this snow to freeze up abit for the showers to arrive later and accumulate properly ; but at least we have a base to work with. Temp down to 1.2c now and snow has stopped

we will receive a proper covering there is more to come from this band and then more tonight . This sugar coating is fine for now it'll get better as time goes on.With all due respect, it's like a sugar coating, nothing to write home about and any that is laying looks pretty wet. The warning for 200m asl will be because they will receive a proper covering.
Temp now down to 1.4c it's slowly declining which is all good and starting to give the covering a chance to accumulate

You guys in Yorkshire get ready for this band of snow if it reaches before decaying ; this snow has layed on ground what was soaking wet so that's no problem either and I'm at 18m asl and 10miles from the coast

Heavy snow now and the ground is nearly covered just some patches to sort out and then hope for some depth after that
it certainly is and with more snow tonight this could be a good event! Hope this keeps going for a whileTeesside looks the place to be currently for the heavier precipitation as indicated by the brighter colours

yup who said you need to be 200m+ were about 18m asl haha temp down to 1.6c now as the snow fallsHaha surely it won't now if temperatures start to go down plus we have a warning for snow tonight...

yes but today's snow was forecast similar just without a warning so it's just wait and seeDon't forget that was above 200m too.

yep I would agree with that but hopefully temps will peak shortly and will decrease again to put us back on the right side for this evening and overnightSome big flakes in Thornaby but pretty light snow. Seems to be thawing more than it's laying.
