Snowing heavily again on the Malvern Hills area - huge flakes and sticking to what we had earlier. Wonderful sight! (Sorry to those who haven't had snow!)

I've woken up to... heavy snow falling!! Already covered the road and cars. Wow! Probably because we have a bit of altitude here on the Malverns but I wasn't expecting this!

Lashing down with hail and rain here as a squall line comes through.

Wow what an incredible deluge here on the Malverns. Not sure when I last saw such heavy rain. Some T&L with it, too.

A noisy thunderstorm headed directly for Malvern, a lot of lightning. It's been awhile!
-
Everything covered with snow again today on the Malverns, after pretty much thawing out yesterday.

Can confirm it's snowing again on the Malvern Hills!

Also awake at unsociable hours. Was raining here for ages (still some slushy snow remaining here and there) but has stopped now and am hoping we will get more snow again. Forecast shows we should get some snow again between 4-10 a.m. Fingers crossed!
Hoping not too many are stranded in the bad conditions further north of here.

Turning into a winter wonderland on the Malverns (sorry to you who haven't seen much yet). We have about 4 cm on the walls here, starting to build up more on the ground (but that's been much slower). Trees properly coated white, moderate snow falling currently.

Looking at the OS map if I've got the right place (Tank Clock Tower?) it's about 200-220m
OK that probably makes sense. Realised I have a shopping delivery soon (the delivery guy normally walks up here, doesn't like driving up) and I'll ask him where the lying snow starts!

How high is the (settling) snow line? Just looking again at the motorways and there is no lying snow by the M5 until nearly Bristol.
I don't know as we haven't been out today, but normally it happens at the level of the Clock Tower on the West Malvern Rd. Not sure how to figure out what altitude that is, but it's obviously lower down than where we live, but above the town level.

Just been checking the motorway cameras, there is nothing really sticking anywhere in the W Midlands. All along the M54, M6 to Birmingham and down the M5 to Worcester, just green even on the high bit around M5 J2-4
Certainly sticking up here on the Malvern Hills! Just constant light snow but it's slowly mounting up.

Began snowing in Malvern about an hour or so ago, coming down nicely, cars covered with a layer and it's starting to settle on the road, too. Good job we gritted our steps yesterday!

It has been hammering down here in W Malvern - full on thunder and lightning at the moment. Been awhile since we've had that.

Has been the most gorgeous past few days here in W. Malvern, even if still nippy at night. Hard to believe there might be snow in a few days' time!
Keep your tender plants protected, folks!

Not much in the way of rain here but the wind is very strong and with some huge gusts, have seen some minor damage from my window (small branches down and a shed roof covering blown off). Can see big trees further up the Malvern hills and more exposed are still intact, at least where I am.

Afternoon all. Eunice has brought me back here, a bit worried about how we'll get on as we're at 280 m ASL, and west-facing. Could get a bit hairy. Have spent an hour clearing up loose flower pots and making sure everything's secure as I can make it. Too many big trees around so fingers crossed. Hoping the power stays on but have got various power supplies and battery lights around the house just in case.
To use that most overused phrase of 2020-21 - stay safe everyone!

SollyOlly Yes it has been a miserable winter, I do love March though because crazy things like this can happen!
