Just had a shower pass through cardiff city center started to spot rain then got heavier with a bit of sleet mixed in then hail which was quite heavy checked the barrage and they have repoted a temperature drop of 2.4c in approximately 1/2 hour current temp 4.9c dew point 2.2c alot of mixed signals coming out of the model disscusion thread not sure where everything stands anybody else confused

I would imagine that would hit us sometime tonight so all depends on temps and dew points and the uppers I suppose

I was looking at the charts and I understand that they are only a guide and not gospel but it seems a bit strange that they are forcasting snow for tues/weds next week and the same pretty much the week after coincident or a conspiracy or possible a trend

I am fairly sure the met have got it right for tues/wed as an atlantic attack is a scenario they have seen before The question is will the atlantic keep pushing through and give us rain or will it be repeled and give us a good dumping My wife would rather the former as we will be able to send the kids to school and I favour the latter I just love snow!!! Having read alot of posts on here over the last 3 weeks it seems to me that of the big ups and downs have been due to timings, a delay with the wind changing from ne to east or ppn pushing in earlier or later than expected cause quite a change to our weather with the knock on effects changing the set ups Don't you just love living on an Island that can see such extremes in a year

Do you ever get the feeling that this weather set up has got alot of the professional weather forecasters flumoxed simply because its a mix of what we have had over the last 10 years or so with what used to happen 20 - 30 - 40 years ago and the models are struggling to make sense of it leading the forecasters astray I understand why the metoffice are giving warnings then retracting them its simply a case of the fluidity of the situation by tommorrow things will probably change and the general public should be made aware by these professionals what advisory's really mean a possibility and nothing more

is it me or does it look like we are getting showers from the thames streamer coming towards us not including whats dropping down from the north? west wales might see some of that
