At the moment, I doubt it!
Not really it will all get washed away with the rain, but I suppose it looks good to the public that the council are doing something even though wasting money down the drain, but then they are good at that.

Sadly with the sheer quantity of rain falling and continuing I doubt very much many areas will have anything lay.
be nice to see it fall though for the first time in a long while, next weeks easterly is still on the cards as well. Lots of positives, always sad when we don't get anything settle though!
If the snow is heavy enough then it will settle easily, once the water gets cold enough the flakes dont melt and then build up and the water below starts to freeze, we will just have to wait and see how much snow we get..but i am going with 8cms by lunchtime tomorrow.

Looking at the current pressure reports, it appears the Low pressure is further west than predicted. Does this mean we might keep the low dew points once he rain arrives. Deffo feels like snow out there.

All the regional threads are run for approximately 40 pages (with the exception of the one before last for this region which went on a bit) it depends when myself or another team member are available to do this but we always link to the previous thread to make it easy for people to catch up and we try to time it around model runs and JPs fax charts etc where possible but myself and the rest of the forum team who are all unpaid volunteers do have lives to live outside of net weather !
Hey Paul,
Understand stressful, maybe should give MK a break, do get paid to give your chip a say??

Lol drinking wine normally improves my spelling, grammar and punctuation ...well the first bottle anyway then it can go a bit down hill from there onwards !
Well on second. So, let off then lol
Will be a very interesting few weeks, especially when all this water hits clay soils further downstream.Actually would not be surprised if somewhere underground started springing a leak

I don't have an A level in Geography and I could have told you that it's a mixture of surface and ground water ... I take it you haven't got an A level in English though - only kidding ;-)
No, just GCSE.....I blame the wine lol

Just reading some facts on flooding(do have A-level Geography) and this situation looks to be a mixture of surface and groundwater...so rightly a lot do could have more to come and could have water for a long time, as groundwater is very slow to dissipate.I blame really bad long term town planning, we shove so much water underground, no wonder its started to bit us in the weeble..just time will tell.

Yeah gone oddly cold at the mo, temp showing only 2 degrees atm here in London....
-
Few more flood warnings just out...Looks like the A2 might be flooded by the River Cray.

Right all we are posting is what Met Office have said to airlines and air traffic control, please stop saying these posts are false and to clarify.
1. They said Knots
2. The are surface winds
3. Are at Heathrow
4. This is forecast, so may change

Just been an update on Sky Neww, Met Office have told Airlines that they are forecasting upto 90mph winds at Heathrow and that the storm is going to last longer than expected up until at last 12pm...
