  1. will it reach here?? we're off to glasgow on wednesday so don't really want to be snowed in on thursday in glasgow
  2. same here!!! snow is lighter now but the stuff in edinburgh and in the forth should make it here overnight along with more snow from the west so i'm confident of maybe a few inches
  3. our snow is still going strong and lying on the roads!!! i reckon that the best is still to come here with snow in the forth supplying a constant moderate snowfall if the charts are to be believed, we will be the last region to lose the snow and it will eventually die out here(whenever that may be) we still haven't hit the really heavy stuff yet, but it looks like we might if the showers in the clyde keep going for a bit longer if it goes on for long enough, then a day off school seems all but inevitable :yahoo 12th march 2006=9th february 2009 and still no warnings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. question: Will the main band move further north and hit fife directly or will it hit 'embra' directly or will the front go straight over the forth bringing decent snow to both sides? i would reckon the third option is the most likely another question: Will the snow front intensify as it heads east(creating a helluva blizzard)or will it slowly die out?
  5. i know how you feel i think that the general rule for here is that if its an easterly there's a good chance of lots of snow, a northerly very little, a westerly can bring some if its cold enough and a peculiar low that forms over london and moves up here brings disappointment and 'rein fo' scutlaand' snow started here now watch out highland snow!!!!!! the main front is slightly to the southwest of us but it is trying hard to move slightly further north so heavy stuff should come through the night
  6. yep, looks like we might bear the brunt of it later
  7. it hasn't got to here yet but give it an hour and i think it will have started
  8. yeeessssssssssssss!!!!!! that means snow here within the next hour or so!!! fantastic!!!!
  9. heavy precip moving towards here from sw  more snow around northern ireland so it looks like the east is not going to be left out tonight sky is looking more red to the southwest so snow may soon be approaching
  10. still just an advisory and its not for us so i think our snow chance remains the same
  11. yep although there is currently some heavier stuff moving towards here but it is quite far away making progress though the front is looking less dead than it was half an hour ago
  12. hope so too we've had zilch so far but maybe as the heavy stuff packs in behind the front it will start to snow here
  13. it looks like heavy showers are moving into the west of scotland from ireland as long as the cloud is overhead i think there is still a chance of better snowfall the band is beginning to move closer to us now maybe snow later? as for the cloud situation it is getting very overcast with heavy cloud nearing but no precip yet
  14. its not that unlikely as their are constant heavy shower bands moving across into us the streamers may produce more snow as well i still think that we've seen nothing yet (although that is literally the case here!!!!)
  15. as i've said, the charts show the real stuff later on we currently have cloud but no precip and i'm not sure we'll get any off this cloud just hoping tonight will be better
  16. patience, snow isn't even forecast on the charts here till around midnight! any snow we get now will be a bonus
  17. hope so!!! the stuff you've had is approaching here very slowly but should arrive soonish the heavy stuff looks like it will come later though and this is what the gfs run is suggesting the warning for us is actually for icy roads  how pathetic!!
  18. getting overcast here :o temp is around 0C so i pressume that it will be snow if it gets here i think it will, it look quite decent on the radar and i think that there's to be more heavy stuff coming in through the night the ground already has some snow and the frost hasn't really melted so i think that we may be in for a surprise later on!!!! i think we should start snow watching from about 5 but realisticly maybe 6 or 7 before it might start (if it gets this far)
  19. my mistake, sorry anyway what i meant what that the model the met office must be using is pretty much the same as the 18Z run the met office are fairly slow on updating forecasts so i'm still confident of some snow
  20. don't despair!! the current forecast is based on a pretty dire gfs run from last night that said the snow would miss us the current gfs run shows snow over us tonight, as does sky weather keep an eye on the weather radar and keep watching the forum maybe shuggee will give us his thoughts on the snow later on
  21. they do but remember how previous warnings have worked out..... last monday night, for example
  22. it was always yellow!! the orange was for ice the met office never really ramped up their warnings for this at all
  23. tonight, tomorrow morning, maybe wednesday, thursday or friday but no guarantees
