hmm, morning all. What a shame that nice bit of 3-4cms of snow has now gone thanks to the rain:( oh well guess the winter storm is over for us now.

Very windy here in sittingbourne and the rain is now sleety with the odd flake mixed in. Temp now 2oc

The 18z GFS shows that a great swathe of warmair is still to cross a large part of the south eastern corner, including suffolk. What is interesting however is that it leaves ppn over suffolk and the south east until around 6pm tomorrow and shows it turning to snow from about 9am - wonder what will happen as presently its just rain and doesnt look remotely like turning to snow anytime soon.

amazing increase in temp here in Godstone surrey from 3.5 degrees to 8 degrees in less than two hours!! ...moonsoon rain falling .. what is going on!

same in sittingbourne its now 7oc it was 3.3oc at 7pm

Temps here in Mid Kent are rising fast. Gone up by a couple degrees in the last 2 hours to around 7 Deg C.

Absolutely p1ssisently raining. Time to give this one up!

Indeed, however I remain very up beat by the prospects here from wed onwards. It's great to see some others do so well though who often miss out. We've seen snowfall every year for the last 21 years since I moved here, so can't be greedy.

But the Meto/BBC Still have a Duty to put out the Warnings for the South East with the Combination of Heavy Rain (1-2") coupled with Strong Winds and Flooding Risks Surely ??

Well the bbc were right with regards to the rain in the south east last week!! And im backing them 100% for monday tuesday being rain. The met office are also giving rain.

i think the channel low wont develop into anything major! every thing has been over hyped from bbc and the metoffice since mondays snow in the south east

Yeah it's getting a bit silly in this part of the world now. (a paltry inch last sunday into monday which was duly washed away within 24hrs) Event after event has somehow avoided east suffolk and i'm afraid it's got all the tell tale signs of another cold rain event here. I'm still holding out for a true NE, that seems to be the only way we can get a decent snowfall over here. Even last sunday's ENE seemed to shunt everything too far south. Sorry about the rant but i have never experienced anything quite like this in terms of near misses! :o :o

I completly agree with u. Its been rubbish here in sittingbourne(n Kent) As for sunday into monday its gonna be another non event with rain.

Morining fellow snow watchers. To be honest i think its all over now for the south east. If u look at the 850 temp charts u can see its gonna get milder tommorrow with the low thats coming in, therefore any precip will be rain. This will again be the case for monday and tuesday. If you look at meto and bbc they are not forcasting snow. News24 said maybe wet snow mixed with rain. I would expect the warning for monday to be removed soon. :o

had a partial thaw but still lots and lots of snow here and the partial thaw from last night made the whole place one huge ice rink all day.looks like it may all freeze again tonight.

watching on with interest for thurs/fri/sat i see lots of mentions of the s/e and Suffolk /Norfolk ect and im wondering if this happens is Essex likely to get any more.

i know its to early to be firm on this just wondered if you had opinions on this??

It would need to shift eastwards to allow the cold air from the northwest to turn it to snow.

Hi all please help! Just watched my local south east weather where caddy (weather girl) was talking about the channel low centring over kent tommorrow night. She said if it stays like that it will be rain and sleet here but if it shifts it would be snow. Can some explain to me what way it would need o shift and the effects this has.
