I'm getting the funny feeling I am too close to sea level to get anything significant some how.
honestly mate i think this could easily turn to rain very quickly no matter where its predicted to fall today so i really wouldn't worry to much
-
The radar confirms that it has intensified over the Irish Sea
then the snow could be far worse than we expected which is very good to hear
-
At least it's over water, could be worse I supose.
It looks like it did stall over the water, which hopefully means it will have picked up more moisture. I would be very worried if it had stalled over land.
although it will have got milder over the irish sea it will bump into colder air over land hence why its really predicted to be wet snow
-
Well, I reckon the flamin' thing is going backwards at this rate. You're right, it's not moved much
it may well pick up more moisture meaning a larger dumping for us when it gets here
-
ahh the met-office wish they would make their mind up? i still think it will hit us later this afternoon met-office will change again after 6pm i am sure of that
WhiteXmas hows things looking where u are?
-
a lot of cloud cover sitting over the campsies its coming
-
Am still watching the potential snowfall here with interest. I think we're gonna get something later/overnight.
The current lump over NI/Ireland is producing snow. The temps are warmer there than here and the system is moving in from the west. A little interaction with the Irish Sea should pep up some showers too.
it reported that it will fall as wet snow but it will quickly lie very dangerous to drive in with potential for it to freeze over night
-
well my fav sky weather presenter Francis Wilson reckons the snow front will be apon us at around 3pm his forecasts always seem on the button for me
his models are always different to the ones shown on the beeb but jeez he need to get a better fitting whistle
quick update cloud cover increasing now
-
morning all logged in and will be reporting any snow activity today. here in south lanarkshire its Baltic out there this morning yes i see the met office has
downgraded again but expect as the weather front moves in it will update the warnings
-
Hmmm, now you mention it I'm not entirely sure but I thought it was an advance warning for snow. Besides, even if it was for icy roads look how quickly that changed
hey i am totally with you as far as the met-office they are either spot on or way off but generally there updated warnings provide input for fast changing systems giving better indication to the experts on here of how things might really pan out
-
Well, they included Western Scotland in their warnings for a few hours today and then dropped it so they could easily change again. But as others have said I really wouldn't pay much attention as we could easily see snow even if they don't change it.
Look at the snow Shetland has had and not a single warning as far as I'm aware!
wasn't that earlier warning out for icy roads only?
-
I'd say there was about 10% chance it is rain in EK tomorrow, not marginal at all  It's marginal near the coasts though, i think Ayr/Prestwick etc will struggle, they may just end up with rain/sleet. More likely to be a mix of sleet and snow here but we shall see what happens!
so thats a massive 90% chance of snow in east kilbride prob around 85-80% for the rest of lanarkshire
do u think the met-office will give a further update tonight or have they now made there bed?
-
 netweather.tv is giving Glasgow a 82% chance of snow tonight and a downgrade for tomorrow huh?
-
You can't really say that yet. Let's see how the temps and dp's fair in the next few hours. Mainland Scotland even to the west should see snow IMO.
sorry mate i am only really going with the met-office at the moment and the direction of incoming event your right with what u are saying but will be watching the met very closely tonight
-
Tomorrow Snow event could be interesting for Glasgow and East Kilbride because both are on the borderline for either sleet or snow
yes it will be interesting to watch this pan out. would be feeling more down the further west i was
-
this is a now cast from the met-office i still expect a further update tonight?
-
Had a few Heavy Snow Showers in East Kilbride this morning.
16:35 GMT:
Temp: 0.3c
Dew point: -4.9c
yes same down here was a fresh dusting dident last long
-
well that easterly that came in on Monday blanketed most of the central belt good chance it will this time around
-
as i thought looks like some in Glasgow will be disappointed sat into sun
-
met-office updated much of southern and eastern Britain Monday downgraded
-
i fully expect that the met-office will update there warning later on this evening. i don't think they will leave things as they stand we should be better informed before 10pm if things haven't changed on the met-office then i think its a matter of some happy and some not. in regards to snow
-
strong biting northerly wind at the moment. could" allow snow to drift down from the north today ahead of the warnings for tomorrow
-
afternoon all it was snowing around 8.am for around a hour or so, left a new covering met-office warning for the strathclyde area for tomorrow prob wont hit us till after dark could make Monday morning really interesting indeed. of course i am always cautious of the met-office warnings but lets hope they are
concentrating more on us up here and actually are right for a change.
-
fine snow falling again day 2 of this non event here in Glasgow what a damp squib again with all this talk of this weather front moving down from the north
i really hold no weather forecast or prediction with any credibility
