  1. Looking at the radar, looks like I'm going to see some snow today. Light snow arrived at Motherwell, Wishaw, Larhall ?
  2. Well it doesn't feel Cold as Ice (Foreigner) here at the moment, although Kate (Bush) did say December will be Magic Again and it was. I hope next week we will all be Slip Sliding Away (Simon and Garfunkel). Okay I'm going to stop this now and go and get a beer.
  3. Yeh, great album. We will have to wait and see if we get some next week.
  4. Still on. Thats over 2 hours of proper snow. 2 inches lying. Looks like a winter wonderland. The road conditions are really not good.
  5. Really heavy snow in Cambuslang. Been on for over an hour now. Magic.
  6. Drivers stranded on M74 as snow sweeps Scotland I've taken the headline from the BBC News Webpage and the link is below. It looks like the M74 is closed between Millbank and Beattock and drivers are stranded. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-42712588
  7. Yeh, that's it back on here. The bands look now as if they are all clumping (that's a good word) together but will fall as rain, sleet or snow ?
  8. Here comes the next lot ?The radar for the west and central belt has got the next bands lined up nicely. Southern Scotland also looking good. Sky looking west over the city now turning orangey pink.
  9. Heavy snow in Cambuslang for almost an hour now. Almost blizzard conditions at times. There is a bit of a wind at times which it driving it along at times. Glasgow City must have taken a fair bit looking at the radar. Driving conditions don't look good. And more to come looking at the radar.
  10. Afternoon. White out in Cambuslang for the last 15 minutes. Huge snow flakes. The best so far. If it stayed like this it would be December 2010 all over again.
  11. Both Met Office and BBC web based forecasts showing light snow to snowmagedon from Glasgow through to Edinburgh from Monday late afternoon through to Tuesday midnight ! Looks too good to be true, Tv weather showing it more showery. Bits of the north west and southern uplands look as though they are going to get plastered on Tuesday. Will have to wait and see what the forecasts tomorrow morning bring.
  12. In reply to Snowy Owl. The BBC screened a program about it on Wednesday, The Storm that Saved a City. It is mainly about devastation the 1968 storm caused Glasgow but it is also a social statement about the unbelievable levels of poverty and degradation that still existed in 1968. It is well worth a watch, it is still on BBC iplayer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09lsq54
  13. Whoa, met office and bbc now forecasting heavy snow for Cambuslang at 2am. I'm not sure ?
  14. Morning. Wet and sleet for the last hour in Cambuslang, mainly sleet. A friend in Wishaw has had heavy snow which turned to sleet but says the cars and grass are white. More to come ?.
  15. Hi, extremely turbulent for the last 30 minutes here in Cambuslang. The wind has dramatically increased, not to the same extent as 6am this morning but its wild here again. Not sure how best to describe it but lots of mini gusts which are really fierce. It has now suddenly dropped. Some sort of front/squall ?
  16. It's been snowing in Cambuslang for 9 hours now. Rather unexpected. Light snow for the last hour, just keeps coming down. Radar not showing any significant precipitation !
  17. Wind speeds and gusts have reduced here according to a local weather station I use. http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=ISOUTHLA5 (and this is up the hill in East Kilbride) Stepped outside for a bit, absolutely perishing ! Sun still shining though !
  18. Morning, suns out here in Cambuslang. Bit breezy, slept like a log. Some excellent posts from the nightshift, that will be BUS. Sat images of the storm are fantastic. Off to make tea.
  19. Oh well, off to bed. Up early to do my Christmas shopping. Only kidding, don't think I willbe going anywhere tomorrow.
