  1. Gorgeous! Perfect summers day - only high whispy cloud around with unbroken sunshine. 22C, light to no winds.
  2. Interesting graph- definitely showing the recent warming trend. Interesting to note the tough of the mid 70s and peak of the 1890s - wonder what that was about?
  3. I think the upper atmosphere of Venus might offer such 'delights' but 2 bar on Earth- maybe under the deep oceans...
  4. 1065mb! That'd give a serious headache under that!
  5. Ah yes- RH = Relative Humidity! As you'd expect the relative humidty is higher in colder air further north.
  6. Just looked thru the guides section & didn't find any info on this type of chart from the GME - RH700: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rgme003.gif What does it mean? Doesn't seem to relate to temperatures or precip. Cheers!
  7. Clear blue skies for the first time in weeks! Sunny at long last! 17C already so prob will be warmest day in 3 weeks.
  8. Surely hyping up 'cold pooling' is pointless in early August- maybe look for that sort of thing late September!
  9. 21C already- barely dipped below 20 last night. Feeling very very warm & close today. Gonna be a joy to work in here today.. Office temp 27C. Only hazy high cloud around and no wind.
  10. Sunshine! As soon as the break up began it didn't take long for the Sun to come out & begin burning off the rest of it. I often think with these low cloud situations that if I could just make a 1/2mile wide hole in it it'd all clear quickly!
  11. 18C and cloud now FINALLY beginning to break up. Can't see 27 being reached today now Still awaiting the sunshine!
  12. This cloud likely to burn off at all? Always the curse of fine high pressure - damn low cloud ruining things!
  13. Overcast and only 14C! Where's my sunshine gone?? Looks like that annoying low cloud stuff that needs burning off. Hope it does so.
  14. Very few isolated clouds and currently 26C. Not too bad in the office so far- but come 1pm the Sun moves round and shines on this 'tin shed'. Expecting to struggle to do work every afternoon this week!
  15. Not a cloud in the sky! 22C currently with a light breeze. Perfect summer weather!
  16. Min of 4C overnight, now 9C. Almost clear skies- just a little haze and small puffy clouds around. Hoping they don't bubble up more...
  17. The new countrywide slant is def much better. Far easier to see where the weather is coming & going to. Last nights 1825 forecast actually told me some useful info! Still miss the pressure charts tho- and info on later in the week. Would rather see a pressure chart for next few days than attempts to show where rain bands/showers might be- which of course won't be accurate so far in advance.
  18. My girlfriend is always always cold- I like my windows open as much as poss but she moans alot & wears many jumpers all the time! Altho her mum came from Spain so prob explains it a bit! I'd have thought females would be warmer due to having, generally, more body fat..
  19. I love the warm nights! I can sit here at gone 12 with my large window wide open in just my pj's! Nothing finer there isn't!
  20. 20C here too at last! Lovely evening too out in the pub- still come home to my brother's gf with the bloody fire on. What does it take to convince people!?
  21. Pressure charts a 'big turn off'?? To the stupid masses that may be so, but not to the informed people of the country (of which there are plenty!). Why do always panda down to the lowest common denominator? This 'lets make it easy & simple so everyone understands' attitude really stinks. Surely we should be raising standards not lowering them! The BBC are usally quite good- take Radio 1 for example. They put out a lot of good music shows that play a variety of underground music which won't be 'mass popular'. However the GWR radio group (you know- the 'Todays better music mix' ones) just play pop 24/7. They are much more popular overall than radio 1 but of course no where near as good or challenging. The whole point of the BBC in my opinion is to raise standards- something that can't be done with a ratings driven commercial tv/radio station.
  22. Just watched 6:30 forecast. Myself & everyone in my family found it very hard to actually know what's going to happen tomorrow! All I know is it'll rain at some time or other and it'll be 19C in London! No idea where the weather is coming from, no idea about the wind and no idea what is happening over next few days! No summary of today like there used to be, no pressure charts, no wind charts, no idea on the coming weekend- nothing!
  23. Yeah I agree- hating this dumbing down lark. But that's how things seem to have gone on television generally. I think the people who used to watch long forecasts/good documentaries/science stuff generally have migrated to the internet, away from television. Whether this was the cause or the effect of the general dumbing down I'm not sure...
  24. Anyone noticed that on the BBC 6pm news there's now only one brief weather bulletin at 6:30? There used to be that brief one in addition to a longer, more detailed one just before 7. Now they fill the time with more trailers! Some SERIOUS dumbing down going on- no pressure charts, no wind direction, nothing useful at all.
  25. Just had a hefty thundery shower. Was sunny & calm one moment then large volumes of very dark cloud arrived from north west. Sudden increase in blustery wind followed by heavy rain & loud thunder. Blue skies now returning! Temp dropped to 9C from 11C in shower.
