is our snow risk for later coming from the precip over northern france or the area over brussels?
-
drove in quite possibly the worst conditions of my life yesterday night at around 8pm, was driving to back home just to the north of cambridge on the A1 road was completely covered, blizzard conditions and no street lights, could not see 3m in front of me. Then a few miles down the road there was nothing.
-
call me silly but i think they might
but even if they do survice the treck it looks as tho they will be a bit too far west? anyone agree
-
all eyes should be the snow showers coming down the north sea from Scotland
was just about to comment on them, looks to me unless they pep up they may fall just to far west for most places in the region, but yes definately worth keeping an eye on
-
is the area of precipitation over EA actually real as on net weather radar it shows it up but on meteox it doesnt. your thoughts please
-
latest bbc forecast for thursday looks brillian
-
on friday what time is there meant to be any snow around stansted airport! as i am working from 4am till 6pm and i soo dont want to miss it, thats if i can actually get to work
-
what are the chances of snow in cambridge / stansted airport area
-
ECM would bring seriou disruptive snowfall, some places would be literally buried in the stuff.
UKMO would introduce some dandruff in the SE and very little elsewhere.I have to say im sure ukmo will
have this nailed.
We have been here before in Feb,at that range ukmo will be correct, yes it will be cold but it will be dry as
a bone for the vast majority.
FAX charts will reveal what the pro's think but the bbc forecaster just said, and i quote,'a bit colder thur/fri'.
That comment has ukmo written all over it,it does not have ecm written all over it.
surely though regional and national news forecasts from such places as the bbc have a bias to use the met office as a source for their forecasts so inevitably making use of the UKMO
-
now after yesterday where everyone was backing the ecm despite the amazing gfs output, have the tables now turned and people have faith in the messy gfs today despite a good ecm
-
i think the tail end of the run has gone a bit messy but it shouldnt mean to worry as there are good building blocks at the beginning of the run up to 192
-
the 192 and 216 on the ecm show the main cold diving down into central Europe instead of towards the uk.

Temps should start falling in the next hour or so, don't want the ppn to move any faster than it is, securing the lowest temps for when the ppn hits. Dewpoints are impressively low, so 2oC in this situation would be sufficient for snow, possibly laying if temps drop far enough.
well from looking at the temps for the areas that should be seeing snow on the radar, you can see that they are experience temps of 2-3 degrees and dew points of around -1, -2. these temps/dp are the same for my area in norwich so things are indeed looking good, just need the temps to dip a degree or two to increase the chances i have
-
woulf you include norwich in a chance for some snow tonight
-
is norwich in line for some snowfall at last then?
-
norwich needs some snow! we have been deprived thus far, any chance of something today/tonight
-
i dont understand the latest forecast on the bbc, it had forecasted temps for both london and norwich overnight at 2c, n yet the show rain for norwich and snow for london, can anyone shead some light onto why this is?
-
next batch of precipitation should be with me in the next 10 to 15 mins and still my postcode is slap bang in the middle of the line of sleet and snow so its 50/50 coin flip on which way it decides to fall
-
is the warm front supposed to retreat? still hanging on for dear life in norwich, hoping when then ext batch of precipitation comes our way it remains snow but i am skeptical at the moment to say the least
-
is any more forecast for norwich tonight
-
any more snow due for norwich
-
will i see any more snow in norwich
-
is there anywhere on the internet where i can download or buy a learning pack to help me in teaching myself all the aspects of model and data reading. any information would be greatly appreciated
