  1. Daniel, if you live in Strood, why would you want that feature to go south? Really interested to know, assume your Strood is just east of London.
  2. Thanks Tom, so it looks like the Tuesday Wednesday event sounds a bit knife edge for London.
  3. Can you explain what the implications of the low being further south are. Many thanks.
  4. I think best wait until SM comes here and gives us a briefing, he did say he would be here this weekend. Ive noticed that if there is uncertainty he tends to hold back, which is much better than getting people’s hopes up.
  5. Snowing in Raynes Park, although Mulzy will probably call it sleet.
  6. Was getting a bit worried on the main thread, a lot of doom and gloom, probably a lot of it fake. SM has just posted and, to me anyway, has brought a bit of sanity to the situation.
  7. Waxed my snow shovel as well! Had it for quite a few years, it’s only ever been used to shovel up dead leaves in the autumn.
  8. Too many trolls on the main thread, getting beyond a joke now. pity there isn’t a system whereby contributors have a rating. This rating to be earned and maybe graded by the hierarchy of Netweather. It would be easy therefore to just take the low grade contributors with a pinch of salt and just concentrate on reading the pukkah stuff. Probably been discussed before but at time of this potential these people seem to take a delight in winding up those of us who are not experts. Maybe this is something that’s just peculiar to the UK.
  9. Yeah, getting difficult to decide who knows what they’re talking about. Need quite a few cans of “bullsh*t” repellant. It’s a pity really, as someone who hasn’t a clue how the models work but is keen on snow, it would be nice to read genuine comments. If I was to put all the dodgy ones on my ignore list there would be hardly anything to read.
  10. Bit of a spat going on in the hunt for cold thread as to whether the GFS is any good. Must admit I really admire Steve’s posts, my favourite and always look forward to his analysis. The below quote also shows his great sense of humour, love the line about “look at it , have a laugh and then return to more important things” Quote So basically in a round about way Ian has said exactly the same thing- They look at it, have a laugh & return to more important things. It has bias frailties - ( what ive been highlighting ) The UKMO GM/ ECM are used for the main forecast ( what I said they use ) In a nutshell -The GFS is pidgeon holed with the other ' average ' performers- ICON / JMA etc - The midpack runners - The force Indias, The Tim Henmans, The Jimmy Whites...l Have a good night all. unquote
  11. Good subject, Francis Wilson was very good, unfortunately I don’t think he was given enough airtime on Sky, always seemed to be cut off mid flow. That’s always been the problem, other than BBC, the other TV channel wx forecasts seem to concentrate more on the presenters (mainly female) and the wx seems to be an afterthought.
  12. You got a whiteout Yamkin? sorry, your message eventually came through!
  13. Sorry no, read it yesterday but no longer being displayed, vaguely remember it referred to two sources.
  14. Attn Steve, Not sure you had an answer, but the last photo (cars) was the one on the Sky News Headlines and was attributed to you.
