    It's looking pretty threatening to the South here in Poole.

    June 5th 1983 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/j.1477-8696.1983.tb04829.x/abstract - I remember hearing what we thought were tanks practising on the firing ranges in Dorset but turned out to be approaching thunder. Ended up with golf ball sized hailstones and a lot of smashed greenhouses! I also remember another one in summer 1982 where it went so dark it was like night during the day. Not seen anything like that since. Not even the 83 storm was that dark as far as I remember.

    Just had a chunky shower with a few nice rumbles here in Poole. Still raining but brightening up a bit now.

    Very wet here and pretty windy too. It doesn't look or sound as bad as the St Judes storm was here thankfully.

    My house is on a hill facing WSW across Poole Harbour. Slightly concerned about this upcoming storm as I reckon we could be pretty exposed here. I should probably put the garden furniture and stuff in the garage! I have to say, I'm still kind of excited though. I remember in 1990 watching a greenhouse get lifted up out of our garden (different house) and disintegrated across the next 4 gardens along.

    Morning all, Here's a couple of pics I took last night in Poole... Just before 9pm, probably an hour before I could see lightning coming over the coast This was around midnight when there were some spectacular CGs going on. Lucky shot with my phone...

    Here in Poole it is grey and raining lightly at the moment. If it kicks off I'll try and get some pictures as my garden is elevated and looks right out over the harbour westwards to the purbecks.

    Yeah, I've gone from heavy snow to light snow to sleet and rain and now it's heavy snow again! lol.
