The line convection over London is starting to become more obvious. This area IS moving westwards and is probably going to be the best shot at getting snow today for these areas.
The whole area should continue to weaken and decay with several established bands left over. Will soon be just a modest area of light snow as it moves further west which will not be very impressive on radar bar maybe the odd line of weak convection.
*Could* be enough for a dusting further west, maybe 1-2cms for those who get in the action in the next hour or two. However there will be some who won't get a bean from it further west you go.
If that's it then pretty much a bust.
Bring on spring.

Looking at the radar dying out in the north of the region around norwich and not moving northwards at all as some forecast said. Is that it?
-
The apparent heavier band above Norwich isn't translating to anything on the ground
-
Pretty poor show almost 12 hours after rain was supposed to turn to snow. London barely seen anything settled anywhere.

Won’t be once it gets over 20 miles inland
It is. Just been off the phone to someone in Attleborough which is 30+ miles
-
That band / streamer moving into Norwich looks to be just rain

Still due to snow in East Anglia?

The band has passed through with a slight dusting on the grass and pavements but everyone else got a few cms? Must the the wind of the north sea.
In SE London about 2 millimetres in a few spots. Drivel really.
-
The 3 mm is now 2 mm after that last band.
-
3 mm in bexleyheath - and that's where it settled. Which is not much of the road or pavement.
Very poor even with minimal expectation of 1 cm. is that it?

Nothing settling in Se london.
When people say cm I often think they mean mm when the pics arrive.

Looking across London on webcams and SE London = non existent. East very poor. West poor. NW ok but none on roads or much paving

more confirmation that it’s a cm and a bit
More like a couple of millimeters

Very little anywhere on web cams within the M25 - even in Kent
-
Nothing settled from the last 10 mins mild shower. Others that had some snow now melted in NW Kent and SE London.
Got to laugh.
-
Latest big shower blob on radar looks like tit will barely get within M25. No real change of direction seen if winds are moving to east

Really no need for these kind of childish comments, just because some don’t have any snow, no need to take out on those who take the time and effort to post thoughts on what may happen, but may have been off the mark a little, never was looking to be lots of snow away from far SE and coastal E Anglia overnight and today anyway.
forecasting snow is not an exact science and the nature of these very cold showery easterly flows is that subtleties in the wind direction make quite a difference, NEly favours streamers for coastal E Anglia, Kent and E Sussex, ENEly favours more inland so S Essex, London, N Kent, Surrey, SEly drier for most apart from northern E Anglia and perhaps Channel coasts of E and W Sussex.
really need troughs or meso lows in the flow or frontal systems from low pressure on near continent for more organised snow getting inland on easterly flows.
He has a point. Two days ago a perfectly reasonable poster tried to hold people's expectations in check for the forthcoming 48 hours (so up to now) and was hounded. He was simply saying its not 100% guaranteed across London and the home counties. He was right but those who hounded him offer no apology now I've noticed reading through the thread.

Very slight change in direction of showers but still will barely enter London at all on current trajectory if they don't break down (which has also been happening)
-
Another 24 hours until wind changes to more easterly? Much the same as said yesterday for today. Snow not delivering for most places

Going to be some really low temps tonight, winds turned more Easterly ,better for everyone
How many times we heard that?

Anything that may hit London dies off by the time it reaches Chelmsford

All the fun is yet to come!
The showers moving through Suffolk and Norfolk look to be holding their strength now, so they should start making their way inland soon.
Really? One blob I was looking at on a line to London now fading.
EDIT: More than one. Yellows to light greens to blues the closer it gets
-
Well nothing here in south London and looking at the radar nothing to come for many hours at least. All a bit rubbish.
I'd hoped much/all of London would at least get a dusting.
Always 12/24/48 hours ahead zzzzz

Melting here. Didnt expect that with low DP
