moderate snow falling here, but not really settling so far apart from roofs and grassy areas, and theres little wind, so it has got chance
-
so far its dry and frosty with hazy sunshine due to the cirrus-type cloud that is rapidly encroaching and thickening ahead of the approaching frontal system.
-
just a light shower of wet snow a few minutes ago and so far thats all.
never mind, theres always tomorrow.
-
Very light but persistant snow (snizzle) on the wind here, but the sun is shining. Can't complain.
There are heavier clouds to the north though......
hi muffelchen
meto rainfall radar is indicating that the showers are diminishing in strength as they move southwards, and seem to be heading seawards too.
snizzle - like it !! shall have to remember that one
-
We've got light snow here but nothing to get excited about.
thanks for that gobbyash - lets hope heavier stuff arrives soon.
nottingham-- we have dne pretty well out of this so far although not quite as well as places south of Leicester- between leicester and luton seem to have far more!well here on the coast there has been precious little, yet villages on the nearby wolds have had quite a covering.
fingers crossed

I am fairly hopeful for another interesting rush hour journey to work on monday and then I think there are signs of something interesting occuring on Monday night into Tuesday- the BBC have hinted at this in latest forecasts although uncertainty about where the Northern edge of the precipitation will be
ironically there are now signs in the sky of apporaching showers, maybe even some kind of trough, but the meto rainfall radar is showing alot of activity along the coast to the north of me.
its looking pretty good
kev238 what is your location?
-
Just started snowing here, hopefully more showers to come.
Good luck to you guys in Hull and Grimsby!!!!
hi woldsowl
yes it looks quite promising for this area for this afternoon too, and maybe sunday's conditions will provide a taste of what the west has been getting.
fingers crossed
What do people think about the chances for tomorrow- late afternoon evening onwards? The BBC to me are playing a bit cagey- I am unsure-- I feel we will get some snow but ti might be of the wet variety and struggle to lay unless it is heavy enough!hi kev238
at this moment it looks like the SE is going to get away with sleet and rain, and places further north are forecast to get rather more snow this time.
am keeping an eye on this one!
-
Frosty start but otherwise dry, very cold and sunny with little in the way of wind or cloud
-
tired off snow are you ... Im tired of getting NO snow .......... 1 day and only a few inches really does not float my boat
kaz
hi kaz
totally agree.
apart from a brief taster theres been little here, and nothing now.
but snowy whiteouts have happened before - maybe theres still a chance this winter.
shall just have to wait and see. i do enjoy snow though.
-
generally a cold and cloudy day but with signs that the sky is beginning to clear and temperature is starting to drop.
-
I dont believe this, once again we miss out.
Currently raining at 1.8C. We had some wet sleet/snow earlier but nothing settled.
Another major disappointment. Just what will it take this winter to get something here.
same here, although at one point it was showing signs of settling, but it soon disappeard
suppose its the same old story here - SST's and all that
-
some snow this morning, often quite heavy at times, but hasn't settled in town and only bits 'n bobs in surrounding rural areas.
is now raining, and seems to be a little milder.
-
yet another dry, sunny and frosty morning here.
cold enough overnight for my lounge to be only 9C when I got up
tea break over, now back to work
-
sorry don't have any readings available at the moment, but its a sunny day so far albeit decidedly chilly with overnight frost still on the ground.
-
changing again, pepping up underneath the band!
does anyone have any idea about temperature and dewpoint levels at 850mb at the moment or direct me to where i can see them for myself?
sorry for going off topic.
-
rain an issue here too but with no snow cover beforehand no risk of flooding, but its very windy and rain is heavy at times.
-
Evening you lively lot!! Thats more than can be said for the "snow party" which has rather too quickly changed into a "rain dance" at least in this neck of the woods.
To those who have got snow - enjoy

generally cloudy with some recent showery rain, but winds are light and it feels comparatively milder than recently as a result even though temperature is around 4c at the moment.
