just posted in the polar low thread but i don't know why i bother i kn ow deep down i will see nothing from this, as per chuffing usual.
Ah polar lows, rare phenomenal snow events that affect the north west very rarely delivering bucket loads of snow - i doubt it will affect Cumbria, Merseyside, Cheshire, and all parts of GTR MAnchester and Lancashire with the exception of the area where I live.
Currently looking out of my window where it is raining, grey and there is now no snow cover whatsoever.
yawn.....
Where are you in Bolton? It was snowing 10 mins ago in my part of town

The trouble is we did have heavy snow showers last night and again this morning.I'm not sure if it is intentional, but you'd receive more responses if you didn't seem to have a tint of attitude in the post... I am very sorry you haven't seen any, however it is no ones fault. I'm sure we have all been in positions where people around us have snow and we don't, it's horrible yes but just part of life and the nature of snow! No one can really predict because showers are hit & miss!
We just missed out on the more heavier and frequent snow.
I've known many a time when Bolton has had plenty of snow and some parts of the North west to have zilch.
Like I said, you win some and you lose some.

The showers passed to our South this morning. A couple of miles south of farnworth was heavy snow, whilst we got a few flurries.Bit of info on what the Bolton area might get would be nice.....
there are some of us round here with hardly any snow to speak of...
You win some, you lose some.

Went to bed with a covering. Woke up to it mostly gone, now coming down again and a covering again.
Feel slightly disappointed.

my bet at the moment is that the gfs will be closer to reality than the ECM and ukmo.
why do you think this? How about posting a couple of charts to tell us why you think the GFS will triumph over the Euros?
Seriously, it's like groundhog day reading your posts.

MetO must be very confident if they are already posting warnings for Wednesday and Thursday...

Some cold looking charts on offer but will take them with a huge pinch of salt. I will be more optimistic if they are showing at T+ 24

Some very heavy spells of snow during the day shame it was not persistent, could have had some good depths.Mostly sleet here today, all things considered did not do too bad out of the cold spell
Sleet at the moment and a general thaw underway.
6/10 ( could have been better)

Hi Dave.I haven't had chance to watch any BBC forecasts. As I am inbetween Midlands/E Anglia what did they say for my region and the rest of E Midlands.
I'm no longer in the east mids anymore.. I was thinking could this be a repeat of feb 09 when the decaying front stalked and intensified over Northants and North cambs?
