Lots of excitement back on yet again in the mod thread, until the next run... Problem I always feel with the beast from the east, majority of Wales misses out on the deep snow. Then the fronts move in with the warm air from our West, hits the cold, but again Wales are on the wrong side of the line and gets rain, whilst parts of England get buried. Not always, but more often than not.

I don't think temperatures will be an issue a few miles away from the coast, but will the front make it...still not convinced. Really hoping so, I have 2 new sleds to test out with the kids.

Agree. I know folk have to start somewhere, and the thread has always been a mad one, but this year it seems worse than ever. A lot of point scoring going on. Use to enjoy following it, but been difficult this winter.

Same here Jay. Just needs to drop another 50 miles. Their automated forecast shows heavy rain for here. Still hoping, but not expecting.

Brother lives down Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn way. Says it is snowing heavy there again now. Hopefully that will drift South and give some of the lucky ones a little top up

Over 140 messages to catch up on, is something going on?! Fantastic atmosphere in here tonight reading through it all. Good luck tonight everyone, this time it feels like it will be the one. Been a long time coming for us all. Can't wait to show the kids some of the rare white stuff. Alarm set for 5am to get us all up and take a walk. Make the most of it. Nothing better than walking in crisp snow as it falls, with nobody else about.

Onto the next chance which is building, but again 10 plus days away so not holding out for much...but hoping for a good few inches! Will be about time for us all. 10 days of snow dances coming up. If by the end of January nothing comes, then on a personal note I will be looking forwards more than 10 days away, to a warm spring and hot summer. With it the end of lockdown and BBQs a plenty with friends and family we haven't been able to see for pretty much a year.

That front is deffinitly raising temperatures as it moves across. 30 minutes ago my car was still covered in ice from this morning. Just popped outside, ice melted and spotting with rain now.

Snow or no snow. The next best thing is what we have now. Ice crisp days, wrapped up warm for a fresh cold air walk. Clears the head right up. Better than the misserable dross of recent times.

A nice cold crisp and frosty start to the day here. Perfect winter morning. Nice and crunchy under foot. Good luck to you all chasing the snow showers today, hopefully some surprises in the next few days for everyone.

Happy New Year to all the contributors of this forum, and the multiple lurkers like myself. Here's to a much better 2021 and with it, lets hope for new multiple stay at home orders,but those that are to do with being snowed in rather than anything else. Another month of winter to go. Who knows what the next few weeks will bring us...even well into late March, early April, surprises could be sprung - before a lovely warm spring leads us into another BBQ hot summer.

Well the school closed early...just as it started to rain lightly. Starting to lose faith and think this is not going to happen with people reporting rain

Here in Ystalyfera it's also been a stunning crisp winters morning. A shower passing over now with some nice flakes falling and sticking on the hard icy ground.

Just watched it turn from rain to sleet to snow here in Ystalyfera. Finally some white stuff is falling. If it keeps going all evening hopefully a cm or 2 to freeze overnight and through Wednesday with the odd shower, before the main event Thursday.

Just been out. Cold rain here but can see the mountains turning white at the tops now.

Not expecting much here in ystradgynlais today. Probably see some flakes and a bit of slush. Thursday is going to be the one this week. Just seen Carol on this morning's weather. Expecting a good 8 hours plus looking at her forecast for Thursday, over all of wales. Our time is getting closer.
