0.9c and just started raining here in St Ives, not looking great for Huntingdon or Peterborough
-
Yet another dissappointed Cambs resident here, not done at all well from this cold spell
Not overly confident of anything this week either, must have the snow shields up
-
Really hoping to see some snow on Tues 22nd, its my birthday and have never seen any for the past 50 years (admittedly lived in London for most of it and cheated one year in Innsbruck, but that doesn't count)
Had a look at the met office five dayer and they are giving heavy snow for my location mon night and tues day, but the tues nightime is a puzzle.
Temp of -7c with Drizzle, yet down the road in Cambridge is saying Fog, how likely is Drizzle given those sorts of overnight lows?
Also not convinced that the predicted low will materialise either or at least not as far north as me

the one on Look East is a nightmare, you can tell she hasn't got a degree in Meteorology!
But Julie is a very nice lady and pleasing on the eye too
Could be a lot worse and have that annoying Scottish woman from the breakfast news show

Hiya all from St Ives in Cambs, signing in again for the winter
We have done alright in previous years and here's hoping for a bit of luck this time
Just wet and currently 5c here with humidity at 50%
Hoping for snow on my birthday (22nd) never happened in the previous 50 years, mind you spent most of that in London, maybe this time
Good luck to everyone
Cheers

Barely sleet now in St Ives, turning to rain very soon I reckon

Now snowing in St Ives, but not settling as yet.
Severe weather warning out for Cambs so here's hoping. Think I had better try and contact my daughter as she was off to a Maths seminar in Cambridge this evening.

Seems like they have issued warnings for every type of winter weather for all areas
Who knows not me or them by the sound of it

Rain just started here with a current temp of 1.7
-
Current temp here is -4.9c and very tricky underfoot when I put the birds breakfast out just now
-
Stopped in Cambridge now and from looking at the radar it would appear the bulk of the ppn is sitting roughly over the Peterborough area.
Presumably this lot will trundle south again later and i'm a bit concerned about my journey back up the A14 to St Ives
Just checked the Cambridge University Weather, in fact quite useful for anyone in this area, so here's the link

Looks like it could be a repeat for me tomorrow morning according to the BBC East lunchtime forecast
Current temp 0.8c and falling
A long weekend would be most pleasant
-
Keep thinking its going to stop here in St Ives then it picks up again, just had some nice big flakes.
Current temp 0.5c
And sorry to hear my fellow St Ivian is off to drive his bus, bought a weekly ticket yesterday, any chance of a refund :o

Apparently roads are barely passable in Cambridge and still light snow/maybe turning to sleet here.
Day off methinks and a few pics to be taken

-1.2 here and definitely rain in the air
Not got above this temp all day and conditions underfoot are treacherous (know because I went down and my shopping slid across the ice)
One section of road is diabloical, entrance road to Waitrose car park and cars have been wheel spinning/sliding all day long
Apart from the madness in the shop which I didn't join, can't work out why it hasn't been gritted. Its a council owned car park and going to be an accident sooner or later, might have already been for all I know.
