  1. Snow petering out near Maidstone now, but we've done well. Official snow depth cup reading on roof of my car is 15 cm.
  2. East Farleigh near Maidstone, Kent. Temp dropped by 1c to 1c in the last hour. Snow starting to settle on grass. I'm down by the river so surprised to see it.
  3. Settling snow near Maidstone. To all those bemoaning rain and high temps, we were in the same boat here. Then suddenly the temp dropped more than 3 degrees in about half an hour, and we had heavy snow. Dont give up!
  4. Heavy very fine snow settling on everything on top of Bluebell Hill.
  5. Temp and DP have risen 0.2 in the last hour, to 1.9 and 1.6. Snow has turned back to sleet.

  7. Final snow depth score from East Farleigh is 10cm. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/17249-20-jan-2013-10cm/
  8. Very fine snow in East Farleigh. +0.5C temp, -0.4C dp. 6 cm the official hard surface level depth score so far.
  9. In Maidstone we were too far South for Monday's snow event, then too far East on Friday. By the look of the radar we'll be too far West today. What's the betting we're too far North tomorrow!
  10. Great big flakes falling. A last hurrah for this cold spell before the milder air moves in.
  11. Met Office for London & South East England Thursday: Mostly cloudy, but generally dry at first. Some occasional light snow is then expected to develop in places during the late afternoon or evening. Maximum temperature 2 °C. Updated: 1546 on Wed 8 Feb 2012 Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Overnight snow is expected to clear away to allow bright or sunny spells to develop on Friday. Mostly dry on Saturday and Sunday, too, but often cloudy, and continuing cold. Updated: 1546 on Wed 8 Feb 2012
  12. A plonk of the ruler reads 14cm. Everything is quiet and still Lovely!
  13. Since the Met Office is government owned, perhaps we could start a 10 Downing Street e-Petition?
  14. Now reached 20mm. Radar suggests the heaviest rain is now moving away east, as the storm passes, but still plenty of it about. River Medway, which runs past the bottom of the garden, will be in it later today I'm sure. Luckily the garden is steep, so house OK.
  15. 16mm so far near Maidstone in Kent, 10mm of that in the last 2 hours. Looking at the radar, the rain (which was coming up from the south) has pivoted round to come from the north-west.
  16. Hmm. Netweather radar says my house is now under that band, but it's dry here. Odd, the NW radar is usually spot on. Maybe the snow is evaporating before it reaches the ground???
