    More disappointing output from the models this morning. Had to put heating on for first time this winter as it's a chilly 7c outside. Looking forward to the zonal train returning and daytime temps around 11c.

    Beginning to look like a 2 week cold or colder than average spell followed by a period that could go either way.

    It's going to be relatively dry and cool compared to recent times. Things may progress into something more wintry as time progresses, but the models arnt at this stage able to identify what exactly. We have to wait and see.

    Not convinced that the charts are showing us anything other than a cooler, drier period.

    Still think there could be some good snow action between 25th and 28th. Midlands down to M4 likely areas.

    The way it's changing today on the models I can see the front just clipping the south west with a bit of snow on the moors and rain in the muff. Everywhere else very cold but mainly dry.

    All models give me mild and wet for Xmas. Maybe up north you will see some snow, but down on the Riviera normal service will continue.

    Minus 3 overnight, now just above freezing. Lovely frost with light cloud floating over.
