-
Bigger flakes now yay!!!
-
We have very light, small flakes falling and settling here giving an 'icing sugar' style covering! I'm happy, it's snow and it's falling on my little boys 4th birthday

Is ipswich going to be too far out for this?!
-
The result of our little snow shower which lasted from approx 3.40pm-4.15pm
-
Wasn't expecting this little development one minute it was just gloom and then bang we've got strong gusty winds, mega dark cloud, hail and I think thunder! Certainly woke me up!
-
If I got a £10 for every time the weather for Wednesday/Thirsday/Friday has changed on my MO weather app today alone I would be looking at a small pile of notes! I've gone from rain to cloud to rain to sleet to snow, and now to hail! That's the set isn't it?!

Well it's certainly chilly out there this morning .
Just been to model thread, if the charts for next Saturday (31st Jan) verify, will we have snow?
It's my son's 4th birthday, he doesn't really know what snow is, as the last snowfall we had he wasn't even 2!, would be fantastic for him to experience snow for the first memorable time on his birthday for him (plus we have a party booked with 40+ guests so if it happens could be a bit of a party planners headache!)

We have something falling out of the sky here, it's either wet snow or sleet I can't decide lol
-
Is anyone else watching the sky news coverage? They appear to be loosing every reporter in every 'spot' they have them across the country. By loosing I mean the coverage keeps breaking up.
I don't think the worst has hit Ipswich yet :/

My back painkillers normally zonk me out come 9/10pm but the last few nights they haven't worked maybe it's because I've been worrying about this weather tonight who knows,,I'm also trying to find a combination of food and drink that will knock me out for the night, so I don't have to hear the strongest stuff in the early hours!
-
I intend to do that thank youNot at all silly,I'm a single mum and it's frightening but all will be fine ,stay logged in here and you will find that everyone is lovely .X

Thank you so much, I guess it doesn't help my nerves that I have an interest in the weather/what's going on, I knew this was coming days ago and of course warned family who then laughed at me....Really sad to hear of a death already...no not at all, it is scary when you hear the house creakiing.Everyone here is really nice, just talk to them.
Thank you currently have the washing machine on and tv will be going on (for as long as that holds up) in a minute,That steady roar outside isn't very nice, so I am going to turn the TV up and then have some drinks , else I am not going to get through the next 12 hours without going crazy! By the way, storms like this scare me too, so don't feel bad......

Am I silly to be scared? Apart from son I'm on my own..,,
My house is a 'new house' (completed 2012) yet the roof is creaking, the windows whistling etc.
There's times like this I had someone about to calm me down...

Just got in after going to collect my son from nursery, and by god is it blowy out there!, the roar from the trees as the wind whipped through them really was quite something.
Didn't seem to bother my little boy at all, in fact I think he enjoyed being blown along on his bike!

Just been for a look out the window....
A few wheelie bins have gone for a walk down the road, an outdoor Xmas tree has gone over, and a couple of 'santa stop here signs' have come down....
My outdoor lights are banging hard against my door, not raining huge amount at the moment but trees swaying about....
-
All quite calm here in East Ipswich at the moment, goodness knows what I will be going out in at 3pm!

Thought it was time to come out 'lurking' and be a poster to this thread.
Another Ipswich girl here really worried about how my journey (on foot) will fair with my 2 year old son tomorrow at 4pm home from nursery!, should I be concerned about our safety? Especially as we walk past plenty of trees

Why haven't we begun to see media warnings about this? I for one am not looking forward to collecting my son from nursery ON FOOT Monday afternoon at 4pm :/
-
Are winds forecasted to be high in Ipswich?, I notice Suffolk isn't included on the warning mentioned above? But checking everywhere else says we are likely to get them?

Just out of interest if it does snow at Heathrow are they likely to cancel postpone flights? My dad is due to fly out to Florida Sunday?, he reckons it won't touch him but I warned him he maybe delayed?
-
Well it's not forecasted to but for the last hour we've been having very light snow here just outside ippy, started off sleety but now 'wet snow' lol
-
According to the met office right now should be experiencing 'sunny spells'....
In stark reality it is hammering it down with decent size flakes still have patches in the road of no cover but can only imagine this is due to it all moving about
