  1. Yep, on the rise though. Weather station was reporting temp of -2.5 an hour ago, now -1.5. Sleet then rain most likely?
  2. Getting some gusts peaking to about 22mph for the last 10 mins or so, weather station is not that exposed either. Glad I got some guy-ropes yesterday though!
  3. Ahhhh Kansas, how you are missed...still, only 9 months to go!
  4. My second favourite day...only just beaten by Oklahoma :-)
  5. That looks a pretty decent skew-t. Backed surface winds, not capped and looks like full height CB's if anything develops? Later forecast skew-t actually has the surface winds backed up until 12pm and then they start the south westerly shift (for the same area), I guess that's the front which would suggest its run through the south west by 3pm Thursday - surface temp drops off and some much drier air over 800hpa by then as well.
  6. Good explanation of the TT index on here... http://www.theweatherprediction.com/habyhints/302/ Doesn't take into consideration CAPE and shear directly, so I guess it's not always relevant...or to be trusted :-) However, NMM does show some marginal CAPE on the south coast this afternoon with lapse rates just touching on the negative side. Worth keeping an eye on I guess.
  7. Not again! I'm bringing packed lunches next time - in my snoopy lunch box :-)
  8. This is probably my luckiest and favourite shot of the whole trip! Nice way to end the tour...
  9. Yep, in the US anyway - I was going to say I've done some back home but that no longer counts!
  10. I'll post this video as you can really see the structure when it gets lit up, some suspicious lowerings in there as well - amazing first day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QprH9tTNz4o
  11. Nick, is that frontal wave something you can pick out on sat images etc?
  12. I think the Skew-T for that area (Lincolnshire) suggested storms moving ENE (moving at about 50Kts as well), so hopefully anything initiates a bit further south and west or they could well mature out over the north sea ??? Sat images show some possible breaks in the cloud cover though. Good luck!
  13. Nice one! I shall be reading that later on...Thanks for sharing.
  14. Count me in for that flight as well... Dan.
  15. Thanks, never had an SLR before so I guess I should be impressed by either!
