  1. Is that about average for the ticket price, £500ish? Do you usually arrive the night before your tour start date as well?
  2. Hi John Thanks for this, interesting read. Basically this is the long wave ridge/trough pattern? Whilst the UK sits in a long wave trough we can expect 'unsettled' conditions with the odd transient ridge between the next short wave? Hopefully I've understood that!
  3. Somebody got it on film http://www.bbc.co.uk...hester-14087092 - apologies if this was posted before.
  4. Wow, that's pretty extreme. I could have done with losing a few light bulbs rather than the stack of equipment in my hallway! Typically anything of any value died yet the 50p fish tank filter still lives on You always hear of people shutting down equipment in storms but I never really took much notice until the other day - I'll be one of those now, for sure!
  5. Yes, sorry, my geography was way off there! The small warm front they have marked was meant to be what I was looking at. I noticed before that there sat analysis does differ from the fax charts at times - not always easy when you are trying to learn more about this stuff! If the warmer air starts cutting back into the cold/cooler air then this could cause a secondary low to form? If my thinking is correct, that's almost how a low starts to form anyway?
  6. Cheers Harry, that makes sense actually looking at the attached pic. Must be the wave they have marked over wales earlier?
  7. I was going to ask about this as well, I cant find much information on what the 'wave' is or does, I see it mentioned somewhere else as a frontal wave, but all I can find for that description is mentioned in the development of a low pressure system??? confused.
  8. Try running 'ipconfig /flushdns' either in a command prompt or from the start & run menu, assuming your on a windows box...
  9. I had the same problem over the weekend, although the forums were still working without any trouble. When the home page did load it was like it was missing a template or something, content was there but was displayed all over the place. Also, if you sign in with your facebook account the forum post times are an hour different to what is shown if you are not logged in?
  10. Finally managed to get back online after a power surge during Tuesday's storm, managed to wipe out my phone line and some rather expensive electrical gadgets! I got about 10mins of this storm on my phone, it's in HD but was a bit of a rush job - so excuse me for that! and for the dog who you might hear in the background, he won't be appearing on storm chasers any time soon :-) If you don't fancy watching it all, T&L peaks around 6-8 mins and about 4:45 I nearly dropped the phone with a rather unexpected rumble! http://www.youtube.c...h?v=4U9eqbeEp4E
  11. Got about 10 minutes of this as well, caught a few strikes on my phone and some gunshot thunder - will upload as well later on.
  12. Just had the best storm in years, right over the top of me in essex. Have managed to film about 10 minutes on my phone so will upload later..Just trying to get the power back on!
  13. Storm I heard looked to be over Billericay and headed Chelmsford way on radar. Getting seriously dark in Wickford now, but thunder stopped.
  14. Just showing on radar now, some deep sounds coming our way!
  15. Yep, couple of rumbles. Just to my west, if my hearing is good!
  16. Spot on! Although the analysis of where it wrong is useful as well.
  17. I think the far south east is still in with a chance of something today. No where near as much energy available as the last few days but still in an environment of good deep layer shear, dew points and showing some vertical lift - with the cold front still to come through. Probably timing again as the energy starts slipping away through out the afternoon and possibly still a strong cap. Anybody else spot that concentrated area of precip at 6pm? Seems to be in area of some cape (not much) but still showing good DLS and uplift.
  18. That's true, I think he meant the warning for the south east though.
  19. Of course, still a while to go yet. I'm not defending anybody but I do think they can't win either way at times.
