Affecting: South Wales, Southern Midlands, Southwest and Central Southern England

Time and Date Valid For: 22.00 Saturday 22nd January - 10.00 Sunday 23rd January 2005

Time Of Issue: 22.00 Saturday 22nd January 2005.

The system that has bought rain and wintry showers to the above areas today is now slowly moving south. As it does, it is turning to snow in many places. Affected areas can expect a covering of snow of upto 3cms on lower ground and perhaps 5cms+ on higher ground.

Temperatures will fall away quickly upon clearance of the system which will lead to further problems with icy conditions.

This alert will be updated as and when is necessary.
