Another sunny and warm day with mostly clear skies- scattered fair-weather cumulus but not much to write home about. Maximum temperature reached 24.5C at 15.30 but now has settled to a pleasant 19C.

I have been in Dumfrieshire most of the day where it was quite sunny but with a cool wind. Current temperature back home 14.5c,humidity 71%, wind very light from the North,barometer 1019 mb and falling slowly.

After an overcast and cool start the cloud burnt off to give a clear and sunny day. It felt warm in the sun, despite the fact that the temperature was again disappointing. This evening has turned increasingly chilly, with the temperature falling fast due to clear skies. Overall, another below average day again, with the very dry start to August continuing. The rainfall total for the month is currently at 3.0mm, 6% of average.
