wow howzat from little stratocumulus cloud to billowing cumulonimbus in 30 odd mins. There has been a marked temperature rise and a new warmer atmospheric airmass bumps into the cold one - we might have a thunderstorm!

It seems exactly the same thing that happened in Dublin is happening here though it might or might not come off.

I think you may be right about the thunderstorms there ste, Activity starting to happen here now, Large Cumilonimbus forming, a shower cloud just passed to my north and clipped my location bringing hail and sleet.

No activity at Lancaster itself yet, but there are scattered large cumulus around, and if we hit any they look like they would produce hail. With a temperature of near 10C, however, sleet or snow is unlikely here.

Had a high today of a positively balmy 9.5C, and it's now dropped back to 5.4C. Had a few showers too, rain at this level, but Cross Fell, which I believe is nearly 3000ft, does have a dusting of snow. No more than that though.

Rather heavy rain shower at the moment.

Fair skies clouded over suddenly in less than 30 mins. And it's now around 6 deg Celsius, with a good deal of rain pouring down.

My overnight temp rose to 5c then dropped back to 3c :?

Sunny for most of today although showery looking skies just edging down from the NE. Will probably die out soon.

Max of 7c with a very cold NE wind.

Expecting a very sharp frost tonight.
