An overcast but dry start gave way around midday with the arrival of rain. This was light and drizzley at first, but became heavier as the afternoon went on. The early evening was more of the same, but the last few hours have seen the rain stop and a few breaks in the clouds appear, allowing the temperature to fall a little. Despite this, it was very much above average for the time of year, mainly again due to a high minima.
