Just had a huge hailstorm here in Darwen with lots of lightning.

It came out of no where and the roads are now covered in a deep layer of hail, some of the hailstones were quite large for the uk up to marble and grape sizes.

I was stood in the kitchen before and there was this bright flash followed by an instant earth shattering explosion as if the house had been hit directly, though I'm not seeing any damage so I'm guessing it wasn't.

There was a few pretty close strikes from this one which produced some very loud thunder.

Very loud thunderstorm overhead right now. Only light hail, but not often you hear thunder here.

Had a thunder storm here. One clap of thunder and saw lighting.But knocked power out for 5 mins.

Strange, i didn't hear any thunder or see any lightning here. Must've been rather localised.
